SECTION 5 – Maintenance of the vibrator
VV-E Series vibrators have no particular need for maintenance.
Maintenance, repair and overhaul operations have to be carried out
in compliance with the instructions of this manual and in complian-
ce with the standards and laws in force in the country of use, for the
specific zone of use. For example:
European union

spheres in force in the country where the vibrator is used.
That is to say: for overhauls and repairs contact directly Venanzetti

no distributor who will contact directly Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano
(Italy).
The VV-E Series vibrators have protection mode "e" (increased sa-
fety) and thus they are characterized by safety distances between
moving parts and therefore they are subjected to accurate prelimi-
nary checks before manufacturing.
For VV-E Series electric vibrators, in order to respect the belonging
category, for use in potentially explosive dust atmosphere, it is ne-
cessary to assure the respect of the mechanical protection IP66 of
the enclosure.
Every time a maintenance, repair or overhaul operation is carried
out on a vibrator, is necessary to check the seals conditions and
the correct placement in the seats.
When the product is used in zones 21-22, the O-rings have to be
changed every two years of use.
Only authorised technicians can intervene on the parts that make
up the vibrator. Before carrying out maintenance on the vibrator
wait until the temperature of the vibrator case is not above 40°C and
ensure that the electrical power supply has been disconnected. If
parts must be replaced, only Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano original
spare parts must be used.
All maintenance, repair and overhaul operations carried out by a
third part and not by Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano void warranty.

5.0 ADMITTED AND NOT ADMITTED ACTIONS BY uSER

The VV-E Series electric vibrator are suitable to be used in poten-
tially explosive atmospheres and the safety operation in such envi-
ronments is assured by the protection mode of these vibrators and
so by the component used and by assembling process. Therefore
the admitted works by user for repairs, overhauls and maintenance
are strictly limited.
The only admitted maintenance actions for user are:
- external vibrator cleaning, to periodically eliminate excess of dust
and dirty;
- periodical lubrication, following what mentioned in next par.5.1.
- replacement of wiring box cover, weight covers and relative seals,
only with original Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano spare parts.
Maintenance and repairs involving removal of vibrator parts are
NOT admitted, except for:

- wiring box cover to connect the supply cable to the electric
board;
- weight covers to adjust and replace the eccentric weights and to
check the rotational sense of the shaft.
In case it is necessary to remove other parts not listed above, it's
strictly necessary to contact Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano (Italy).
Within these forbidden actions are also included the bearing repla-
cement, the removal of stator and other inner parts.
It's extremely important to check the bearing's conditions to avoid
that an excessive wear cause the unbalancing of the shaft and the
danger of stripment of the rotor with the stator. Then if an increa-
sing bearing noise is noted, the bearing replacement is strictly re-
commended.
In case of troubles always contact Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano.
In case the bearing checking it's not possible, we recommend to
plan bearings replacement at the calculated theoretical bearings
life time (page 8, 9).
ATTENTION: Every time the afore-mentioned maintenance ope-
rations are carried out it is recommended that all disassembled
screws and spring washers are replaced and that the screws are
tightened using a dynamometric wrench.

5.1 LuBRICATION

All bearings are correctly lubricated on mounting the vibrator.
Therefore when the vibrator is supplied the user DON'T have to lu-
bricate it.
All Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano vibrators are realised to use the
"FOR LIFE", lubrication system and therefore do not compulsorily
require periodical lubrication.
For a correct use of the bearings Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano
recommend in any case a periodical lubrication every 3000-5000
hours.
Only for heavy work, as for example 24 hour service with high environ-
mental temperatures, starting from frame size GA periodical re-lubrica-
tion of the bearings is mandatory, using the two external greasers with the
following type of grease:
- speed of 3000 rpm or higher: KLUEBER ISOFLEX NBU 5;
- speed of 800 rpm or lower: KLUEBER STABURAGS NBU 8 EP;
Approximately, on average, the frequency of re-lubrication can be inclu-
ded between 000 and 5000 hours and depends on the operative condi-
tions and the type of vibrator, therefore it can be lower or higher than the
indicated values. The quantity of grease to be introduced on periodical
lubrication is indicated in the table on page 8.
It is advised to contact Venanzetti Vibrazioni Milano for particular uses
which is at complete disposal to advise the client on the best lubrication
possible for the specific use.
Never mix greases even if they have similar features. Excessive
quantity of grease causes increased heating of the bearings and
consequent anomalous current absorption.
Respect the ecological laws in force in the country in which the
equipment is used, relative to use and disposal of products used
for cleaning and maintenance of the vibrator. Always comply with
recommendations of the manufacturer.
If the machine must be demolished, comply with the anti-pollution
regulations envisioned in the country of use.
Remember that the Manufacturer is always available for any type of
assistance and spare parts.
