Mounting the Protective
Devices
Before any work on the machine itself, remove the
battery.
Protective Guard (see Figure A)
For work with roughing or cutting discs, the protec-
tive guard 3 must be mounted. For cutting applica-
tions, always use a closed protection guard (acces-
sory).
Insert the protection guard 3 between the retaining
plate and the bearing journal, and turn it to the required
working position. The protection guard must engage in
the corresponding position (possible in steps of 30°).
The closed side of the protection guard 3 must always
face toward the operator.
Auxiliary Handle (see main figure/
Figure B)
For all work with the machine, the auxiliary handle
must be mounted.
Screw the auxiliary handle 11 on the right or left of the
machine head depending on the working method.
Mounting the Grinding Tools
Before any work on the machine itself, remove the
battery.
Observe the dimensions of the grinding discs. The
mounting hole diameter must fit the mounting
flange 4 without play. Do not use reducers or
adapters.
Actuate the spindle lock button 1 only when the
grinder spindle is at a standstill!
Clamping Nut (Figure C)
Mount the mounting flange 4 and the grinding/cutting
disc 5.
Screw on the clamping nut 6,
Press the spindle lock button 1.
Tighten the clamping nut 6 with the two-hole spanner 7.
Quick-clamping Nut (Figure D)
Mount the mounting flange 4 and the grinding/cutting
disc 5.
The free thread length „X" of the grinder spin-
dle must be at least 9 mm.
Press the spindle lock button 1.

Fold the clip up and manually screw the quick-clamping
nut onto the locked grinder spindle, turning in clockwise
direction, until firmly seated against the grinding/cut-
ting disc. Fold the clip down again.
To release, fold the clip up and manually unscrew the
quick-clamping nut from the locked grinder spindle,
turning in anticlockwise direction. If required, the
quick-clamping nut can also be released using the cor-
responding two-hole spanner. The two holes for the
spanner are located below the clip.
After mounting the grinding tool and before switch-
ing on, check that the grinding tool is correctly
mounted and that it can turn freely.

Initial Operation

Inserting the Battery
Slide the charged battery 10 in into the handle until it
can be felt to latch.
Switching On and Off (see Figures E/F)
Switching on: Push the On/Off switch 9 forward
Switching off: Release the On/Off switch 9
Locking on:
Push the On/Off switch 9 forward and
press it down at the front until it engag-

Switching off: Press the rear tip of the On/Off switch 9
down

The switch snaps back to the Off posi-
tion.
Restarting Protection
When the battery is inserted while the On/off switch is
pressed, the machine will not restart again for safety
reasons!
To restart the machine, switch Off and then On again.

Overload Protection

When the motor is subject to overload, the overload
protection is actuated.
To continue working, switch the machine Off and then
On again.
