9. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Symptom
Tool does not operate
when trigger is pressed.
Tool does not return
to initial position when
trigger is released.
Stroke Selector will not
rotate
Tool will not place fastener
Clutch noise when placing
fastener
Cause
Battery is defective
Battery is not fully charged
Battery is not fully seated
Battery pack has reached
operating temperature limit
through continuous use or
defect.
Tail Jaw Cartridge not detected
LED Flashing (1s intervals)
Tail Jaw Cartridge cover open
Electrical malfunction.
Tool not at home position
(stuck in reload mode)
Battery removed from tool mid-
stroke
(tool is stuck in placing mode)
Tool overload in application
(Placing mode)
Tool stuck in application
(tool is stuck in placing mode)
Battery is defective
Battery charge is low
High broach load
Check for correct size mandrel
Worn or broken tail jaws
Worn or broken nose jaws
Tool is overloaded in application
ORI GI N A L I N S T RU C T I O N
Remedy
Replace battery
Charge battery (4.3.1)
Remove battery and re-insert. Reset
tool to home.
Remove battery & allow to cool.
Mount battery and reset tool to home.
Insert Tail Jaw Cartridge to the tool
Tool is in reload mode. Hold trigger for
>1s to reset to home position
Close cartridge cover and lock in place
with Cartridge catch
Remove battery, wait 2 seconds
then reinsert. Reset tool to home by
operating trigger (4.2.2)
Pull trigger for >1s until LED fl ashes at
regular 1 second intervals. Position the
mandrel, pull trigger for >1s to return
the tool to home position.
Quickly double tap the trigger in
reload mode to revert the tool to
home position
Tool is in placing mode, reload battery
to tool and pull trigger to actuate.
Check application (hole sizes sheet
thicknesses) to specifi cation.
In Placing mode, pull trigger
<0.5second and release trigger to
reset position.
Mandrel will need to be destroyed to
release tool. (grind mandrel head off)
Replace battery
Recharge battery
Check fastener grip and application
hole size
New tail jaws (5.3.2)
New nose jaws
Check application (hole sizes sheet
thicknesses) to specifi cation.
