The tapping points at the back are to be closed
with the included blind plugs. If pressure redu-
cers are installed, the filter has to be installed in
the direction of flow in front of the pressure re-
ducing valve.
!
If the filter is installed in the wrong flow
direction, the filter insert cannot only be dama-
ged but it can also not be back-flushed as the
impurities accumulate on the inside of the filter
insert and can therefore not be rinsed out du-
ring flushing!
The national regulations must be ob-
served during installation!
5. Initial operation
!
The right order of the steps during
initial operation must be observed to avoid
pressure impacts and damage to the filter!
• Open the nearest discharge valve.
• Open the isolating valve at the filter outlet
port.
• Open the isolating valve at the filter inlet
port slowly to avoid pressure impacts insi-
de the filter.
• Close discharge valve.
The filter is now ready for operation.

6. Frequency of maintenance
At the beginning of the filter service life, parti-
cles of various sizes gather at the filter insert,
depending on the upper and lower penetrability
and the separation effect. During the course of
its operating time, suspended solids and micro
particles will also gather at the outside of the
filter insert.
For hygienic reasons, this is the time when the
filter should be back-flushed.
To guarantee a perfect function of the backflush
filter, the filter has to be back-flushed regularly
depending on the pollution of the water. The
degree of contamination can be controlled
via the 2 pressure gauges of the filter. The
filter must be back-flushed if the differential
pressure exceeds 0.5 bar during water con-
sumption.
!
For hygienic reasons, the filter
should be back-flushed at least once a
month.
7. Drainage of the flushing
water
The flushing water is discharged via a free
outlet and can be collected in a bucket below
the draining nipple. The latter can also be con-
nected directly to the drain water connection
via a standard HTEM pipe DN50). To avoid
odour nuisance, the installation of a siphon in
the drain water connection is recommended.
8. Flushing
• Turn the handwheel slowly 10 complete
turns to the left (the coarse impurities are
flushed first and then the filter insert is flus-
hed segment by segment).
• Now turn the handwheel slowly back to the
right until stop.
• Carry out leakage test.
The filter is now ready for operation.
