6 Installation and initial
operation
The thermostatic valve and the radiator
lockshield valve must only be installed into
a clean pipework system and must only be
operated with a clean unpolluted fluid.
6.1 Installation
6.1.1 Installation of the thermostatic valve
The thermostatic valve is installed in the
supply pipe to the radiator so that the
thermostat is in a horizontal position and a
good circulation of air is guaranteed.
NOTICE
To avoid rattling noises, the direction of
flow in the supply pipe has to conform to
the direction of the arrow on thermostatic
valve.
6.1.2 Installation of the radiator
lockshield valve
The radiator lockshield valve is installed in
the return pipe of the radiator. The isolating
facility has to be easily accessible.
6.1.3 Pipework

NOTICE
When using compression fittings for
female threaded radiator fittings (sized
DN 10, 15, 20), the "Ofix" compression
fittings have to be used to guarantee
a perfect sealing function between the
pipework and the valve.

1. Cut the pipe to the required length at a
right angle to the tubular axle.
2. When using thin walled or very soft
pipes, the pipe ends have to be
equipped with
(accessories) before
compression fitting. The reinforcing
sleeve provides the strength to enable
the necessary compression and a tight
pipe/valve connection is guaranteed.

NOTICE
Do not use any greasing agents or oil for
the installation, as these can destroy the
