1. Remove the required number of CLOTtrac
deionized water vials.
®
2. For each vial of Iyophilized CLOTtrac CWB Coagulation Control, add 1.5 mL of
deionized water using a syringe. DO NOT AGITATE THE CONTROL UNTIL
COMPLETELY REHYDRATED.
3. Allow at least 10 minutes for adequate rehydration. Failure to do so may lead to
an improperly reconstituted control, which will give erratic results.
4. Once rehydrated, shake the control vigorously until the suspension is uniformly
dispersed and the control is completely reconstituted.
5. Tap the cartridge to resuspend the cartridge reagents.
6. Automated Coagulation Timer, ACT II
6.1 LRACT Cartridge:
a. Transfer 0.2 mL of reconstituted control into each channel of the cartridge.
Fill to between the fill lines etched on each channel body.
b. Place the filled cartridge into the instrument and allow to warm for 5
minutes.
c. Add one drop (40 µl) of 0.1 M CaCl
immediately rotate the actuator heat block closed to initiate the test.
6.2 RACT Cartridge:
a. Transfer 0.2 mL of reconstituted control into each channel of the cartridge.
Fill to between the fill lines etched on each channel body.
