– Ensure that no punch slugs remain in the die. If necessary to remove a slug from the die,
insert a small drift through the locking screw (B or C), on to the slug and tap sharply.
3. MAINTENANCE
The oil pressure inside the head must always be completely released before discon-
necting the head from the hose.
All maintenance operations must be performed with the head disconnected from
the hydraulic pump hose.
The hydraulic head is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points should help to maintain the optimum performance
of the tool.
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Avoid putting the head on muddy or dusty ground. Any dirt particles may score the ram
and create oil leaks.
Every day, after use, the head must be wiped with a clean cloth, taking care to remove
any residual particles, especially around the moving parts.
3.2) Replacement of the automatic coupler
To replace the automatic coupler proceed as follows:
– Remove the old coupler.
– Carefully clean the thread of the nipple to remove the old sealant.
– Apply Tefl on tape to the thread.
– Fit the new automatic coupler and tighten to 50 Nm (37.6 lbf ft).
3.2) Storage
(Ref. to Fig. 6)
When not in use, the tool should be stored and transported in the plastic case, to prevent
damage.
Plastic case: VAL P30; Size 315x300x95 mm; (12.4x11.8x3.7 in.) weight 0,93 kg (2 lbs).
The plastic case can accommodate the tool and accessories.

4. RETURN TO Cembre FOR OVERHAUL

In the case of a breakdown contact our Area Agent who will advise you on the problem
and give you the necessary instructions on how to dispatch the tool to our next service
Centre; if possible, attach a copy of the Test Certifi cate supplied by Cembre together
with the tool or, if no other references are available, indicate the approximate purchase
date and the tool serial number.
