4 If you are not using the Dell PowerEdge Installation and Server
Management CD for the first time, the Welcome to Dell OpenManage
Server Assistant window appears. Go to step 5.
If you are using the Dell PowerEdge Installation and Server Management
CD on your system for the first time, perform the following steps:
When prompted, click the appropriate language for your system.

The Dell Software License Agreement window appears.
Read the information carefully.
If you agree with all of the information, click Accept to continue.

If you do not agree with all the information, click Decline. Your system
restarts, and you will not able to complete the operating system installation.
5 Click Server Setup to install the operating system.
The Set the Date and Time window appears.
6 Select the appropriate date, time, and time zone, and click Continue.
7 Select Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition.
NOTE:
Server Administrator does not provide an option for the
Windows Unified Data Storage Server 2003 x64 operating system.
Selecting Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition is the correct option.
NOTE:
Since the Product ID (PID) is included on the operating system DVD,
providing your PID is not required. You are prompted to enter a PID during the
Server Administrator installation if you use Dell OpenManage 5.0 or later.
8 Click Continue.
The Configure the Hard Drive for Microsoft window appears.
9 The Configure or Skip RAID window appears. Perform the following
steps:
Select one of the following options, and then click Continue:

Configure RAID
•
Skip RAID configuration
NOTE:
Your system is pre-configured from the Dell with the internal
hardware RAID 1 feature using both the internal hard disk drives,
and this is the supported hardware configuration for your system.
If you selected Skip RAID configuration, go to step 10.
