Contraindications:
Absolute:
Do not use vessel sealing on vessels with a diameter above 7
mm*. Do not use vessel sealing on tissue bundles with
unknown contents. Do not use the ligation instruments if, in the
opinion of an experienced physician or according to current
professional literature, such use would cause endangerment of
the patient due, for example, to the general condition of the
patient, or if other contraindications are present. Do not use in
combination with the AUTOSTART function. Do not use on the
heart, the central circulation system or the central nervous
system. Do not treat implanted metallic objects, such as stents
or clips. Do not use for contraceptive coagulation of fallopian
tubes.
*depends on types of vascular tissue and vascular pathology
(atherosclerosis, aneurysmal, vessels, etc.). The physician should
evaluate each sealing for reliability.
Relative:
Do not grab too much tissue for sealing, jaw should not be too
full. Care must be taken when sealing in the vicinity of sensitive
structures, e.g. nerves, ureter.
Side effects / possible complications:
Rebleeding, thermal injury of the surrounding tissue, tissue
sticking to the instrument, pain, adhesions, seal failure,
inadequate sealing, tissue charring
