WARNING!
•
DO NOT connect any tool weighing more than 5 Ibs (2.26 kg) to a person. Tools
weighing more than 5 Ibs (2.26 kg) must be connected to a suitable structure.
•
DO NOT exceed the specified product load capacity rating. See product tables for load
ratings.
•
Connect the carabiner on the end of the tether to a suitable attachment point.
•
DO NOT tie knots in a tether.
•
DO NOT hook the tether to itself.
•
DO NOT connect carabiners to each other.
•
Inspect the tether before each use in accordance with the inspection instructions.
•
Always keep tools tethered at heights. Exchange tools over a secure area (e.g., inside
a controlled container, over a platform, etc.) or connect the tool to a secondary anchor
before disconnecting from the original anchor point.
•
DO NOT alter this equipment or intentionally misuse it.
•
DO NOT use fall arrest or rescue equipment in environments with temperatures greater
than 113°F (45°C) or temperatures lower than -31°F (-35°C).
•
DO NOT use tool tether products adjacent to moving machinery, electrical hazards, or
in the presence of excessive heat, open flame or molten metal.
•
DO NOT use tool tether products as part of a personal fall arrest or restraint system.
•
Any tool tether product that has been subjected to fall arrest forces must be
immediately inspected for damage prior to continued use.
•
DO NOT make a modification to a connected tool or product that will result in a
deviation from the manufacturer's recommendation or specification.
•
DO NOT make tool attachments in a manner that would allow the tool tether product to
be unintentionally disconnected.
•
DO NOT use a tool tether product if it will interfere with the safe working condition, or
operation, of any personal fall protection product or system.
•
DO NOT use a tool tether product if it will interfere with the safe working condition, or
operation, of the connected tool or equipment.
•
Ensure the tool tether is kept free from any and all obstructions including, but not
limited to, entanglement with other workers, yourself, and surrounding objects.
•
DO NOT wrap tool tether components around rough or sharp edges.
•
All connected tools and equipment, including connection points, must be compatible
for use with tool tether products, and properly maintained and inspected in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions.
•
Ensure proper tool drop clearance. Tool drop clearance is defined as:
Tool Tether Maximum Length + Tool Length + 1 ft (0.3 m) Safety Factor.
•
DO NOT modify a tool or primary anchoring location that could result in manufacturer
guideline deviation.
Failure to follow these warnings can result in serious personal injury or death.
