5. Installation

Before installation, check that
the variant is the one ordered.
the IO 111 is suitable for the supply voltage and
frequency available at the installation site.
the IO 111 has not been damaged during
transportation.
Warning
Before installing the IO 111, make sure
that the power supply has been
switched off and that it cannot be
accidentally switched on.
The installation must be carried out by authorised
personnel in accordance with local regulations.
All safety regulations must be observed on the
installation site.

5.1 Location

The IO 111 is only for indoor installation.
Warning
The IO 111 must not be installed in
potentially explosive environments.
Pumps with sensors may, however, be
installed in an explosive environment.
Enclosure class
The IO 111 is enclosure class IP20 and designed
according to overvoltage and measurement category
II. In order to reduce the external pollution level to
maximum 2, the IO 111 must be installed in a
protecting environment with minimum IPX4
enclosure according to IEC 60529.
The cabinet must be of a flame-retardant material.
Ambient temperature
-25 °C to +65 °C.
The IO 111 must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Installation height
Maximum 2000 m above sea level.
Relative air humidity
Maximum 95 %.

5.2 Mounting

The IO 111 is prepared for mounting on a 35 mm DIN
rail (EN 50022).
Fit the IO 111 module by hooking the top on the DIN
rail and clicking the bottom onto the rail.
Fig. 4
Mounting on DIN rail
The IO 111 module can be removed by pushing it
upwards and free of the DIN rail.
Warning
The installation must incorporate a
circuit breaker in order to switch off
the phase voltage on the terminals of
pos. 3, see fig. 1. It must be close to
the IO 111 module and easily
accessible for the operator. It must be
marked as circuit breaker for IO 111.
The circuit breaker must be according
to IEC 60947-1 and IEC 60947-3.

5.3 Electrical connection

All terminals are rated for maximum 8 A.
The terminals 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 10 are for wire size
AWG 28~12; terminal 16 is for AWG 28~16.
Voltage rating of the individual terminals, see
13. Electrical data.
Warning
The insulation between the cabinet in
which the module is fitted and the
input terminals for sensors must have
a dielectric strength of 2210 VAC, or
the cabinet must be connected to
earth.
Warning
Terminals T1 and T2 (pos. 1) are
normally connected to 220 VAC.
Terminal I3 (pos. 9) may be connected
to up to 600 VAC, see fig. 1.
See fig. 1 and the diagrams at the end of these
instructions.
Warning
External controllers that are con-
nected to the IO 111 module via the
RS485 connection must be according
to IEC 60950-1 (USA: UL 60950-1).
