The connection technology and plug assignment comply
with the specifications in the technical directives.
6.3.2
Connecting the bus coupler as an intermediate
station
1. Set up the correct pin assignments (see Table 5on page 64)
on the plug connections if you do not use pre-assembled
cables.
2. Connect the incoming bus line to one of the two X71/X72
plugs.
The X71 and X72 plugs have equal authorization. It is,
however, recommended that you use the same plug as IN or
OUT for all devices.
The SERCOS III cable must at least fulfil the requirements
for category CAT5e and should be a cable with double
shielding (S/STP) with a maximum length of 100 m.
3. Connect the shield on both sides of the bus cable directly to
the plug housing (EMC housing), if non-pre-assembled
cables and plugs with metal housing are used. This protects
data lines from terminal interference.
