Faulty wiring
Faulty wiring can lead to malfunctions as well as
damage to the bus system.
O Unless otherwise stipulated, comply with the
installation guidelines and wiring recommendations
in the specifications of the bus employed.
O Only use cables that meet the field bus
specifications as well as the connection speed and
length requirements.
O In order to assure both the protection class and the
required strain relief, the cable and plug assembly
should be done professionally.

6.5.1 Connecting the bus coupler electrically

Electric shock hazard from unsafe power supply
isolations
The 24 V supply must come from a separate power
pack with safe isolation for bus couplers with an
external load supply (AUX). An unsafe power pack
isolation can damage the system and cause injuries
arising from electric shock.
O Only use a power pack with safe isolation according to
DIN EN 60742, classification VDE 0551! This ensures
that the electric circuits comply with SELV/PELV
electric circuits in accordance with IEC 60364-4-41.
Only use the plug connectors provided and a suitable
profile cable to connect the bus couplers.

Connect the bus coupler in accordance with the
information in the operating instructions for your bus
coupler.
