Double subbases for single solenoid valves
4)
These examples only apply if there are no module extensions. You can also ar-
range other combinations based on your requirements.
5)
From an electrical connection viewpoint, the double subbases for double sole-
noid valves must come first and then those for single solenoid valves.
6)
The maximum number of solenoids for all subbases is 32.

7.2 Configuring the bus coupler

14
The description in this section refers to the software BOOTP/DHCP Server, Ver-
sion 2.3.2.0 of Rockwell Automation Inc. The software also contains online docu-
12
mentation which has to be observed during operation.
14
The configuration steps laid out in this section are superior to the settings on the
12
bus coupler which have already been described and are a part of the entire sys-
14
tem's bus master configuration. See section g 7.1. Making presettings.
The work described here may only be carried out by qualified electron-
14
ics personnel and in compliance with the operator's documentation on
configuring the bus master, as well as applicable technical standards,
14
directives, and safety regulations.
12
Before starting configuration, the following steps must have been carried out and
14
completed on the bus coupler:
12
• You have assembled the bus coupler and the valve terminal.
14
See section g 6. Assembly.
• You have connected the bus coupler.
See section g 6.3. Connecting the bus coupler electrically.
• You have carried out the presettings.
Example 6
See section g 7.1. Making presettings.
The configuration may also be carried out using other configuration
software, but the described parameters and settings must be adhered
Sol. LED
to.

7.2.1 Configuring the bus system

14
EtherNet/IP™ stands for "Ethernet Industrial Protocol". It is an open bus system
12
that is based on the IEEE 802.3 standard and supports the widely used family of
14
TCP/IP protocols. This is why it is also subject to specifications and limitations
when assigning IP addresses (RFC: 791 INTERNET PROTOCOL; DARPA INTERNET
14
PROGRAM PROTOCOL SPECIFICATION September 1981). To avoid the problems
of a factory-set static IP address, the bus unit is set by default to address assign-
ment using the DHCP protocol.
14
A dynamic or static IP address can then be assigned using the appropriate tool.
