The flammability limit of the heating fluid must be at least 50°C higher than the pump temperature class.
The pressure of the heating fluid must not exceed the following values:
- 3 bar for the heating jacket on the cover;
- 10 bar for the heating jackets of the body and the axial seal.

EARTH CONNECTION
Figures 1 and 2 indicate the earthing point, respectively:
- Fig. 1, for the free shaft pumps (on the part called "arch support");
- Fig. 2, for the pumping units (on the part called "base").
For the free shaft pumps, the installer must take care to set up an appropriate earth and/or equipotential connection of the
masses using a tin-plated terminal.
For the pumping units, the equipotential connection of the masses of the equipment is guaranteed by the manufacturer and the
earth connection must be set up according to the relevant technical standards and in conformity to the user instructions of the
components. In all cases, the cables used for earthing or for the equipotential protection circuit must have an adequate section
and the contact surfaces of the connections must be clean and protected from corrosion.
The pump must always be earthed separately from the motor or other part connected to it. No earthing or incorrect
earthing invalidates the requirements concerning safety and protection against the risk of explosion.
All the electrical connections on the pump and system must conform to the technical standards in force.
The electrical system must be implemented by skilled personnel, in conformity to the specific laws in force.
There must always be continuity between the pump and other elements connected to the earth.
Check the efficiency of the earth connection every year.

AXIAL HOLDING
9.1
MECHANICAL SEAL
The seal may be damaged and the liquid in the pump leaks; the user must evaluate this event and adopt the necessary
precautions so that the liquid does not interact with the external environment.
Inspect the seal every time the pump is serviced and stop it immediately in the presence of a leak. The leaking seal
must be replaced by following the instructions provided in the pump user and maintenance manual. Varisco original
spare parts must be used.
Pumps with a mechanical seal (except for the flushed ones) are equipped with a tank for the seal area to be lubricated: a liquid
lubricant must be used, compatible with the pumped liquid and with the materials of the mechanical seal and the oil seal fitted
on the shaft outlet side. If compatible, we recommend using SAE 15W-40 motor oil. A branch is interposed between the lubricant
liquid container and the seal holder for a temperature probe to be connected: in other words, the pump is set up to detect the
temperature of the seal. If, following the process risk analysis, the integrator/installer decides to install a temperature probe, it
must be integrated into a circuit whose minimum safety function efficiency is equal to PL=c, category=2, in accordance with
Standard UNI EN 13849-1:2008; this sensor must be connected to the control panel and must stop the pump when the set
threshold is reached. The connection must be carried out by specialised personnel and in compliance with the regulations in force.
The user is responsible for:
- connecting the heat-sensitive element, if necessary, to a certified temperature measuring instrument, in accordance with Directive
2014/34/EU (the instrument is excluded from the Varisco supply);
- at least daily, check that the lubricant liquid tank is always full and top up, if necessary.
