COMPATIBILITY BETWEEN THE PROCESSED LIQUID AND PUMP MATERIALS
The user must always pump liquids that are compatible with the construction materials of the pump. In this regard, chemical
compatibility between the process fluid and the materials of the pump must be verified. Tables that indicate the degree of
compatibility between two materials are readily available in technical literature: from "not recommended" (i.e. alteration of the
characteristics of one of the two materials) to "excellent" (i.e. there are no significant alterations to the characteristics of one of
the two materials). It is the user's responsibility to request the pump manufacturing material data sheet, if these are not known.
The same requirements also apply to the fluid used inside any heating jackets on the pump.
The material of the oil seal ring fitted on the rear seal that contains the lubricating liquid is always in PTFE (Teflon®).
Using the pump with fluids that are not compatible with its component materials or in an environment with the presence
of incompatible fluids is forbidden in any case; otherwise, the requirements concerning safety and protection against
the risk of explosion are invalidated.

ROLLING BEARINGS
The bearings must be lubricated every 500 hours of operation with MOBILUX EP 3 grease or equivalent (for the HT MOBILTEMP
78 versions or equivalent).
Poor or incorrect lubrication of the bearings invalidates the requirements concerning safety and protection against the
risk of explosion.
Rolling bearings must be replaced at least every 10 years or after 20000 hours of operation (the first of the two conditions that
occurs). The bearings must solely be replaced by Varisco S.r.l. or by skilled technical personnel (for maintenance and replacement
of the bearings, refer also to the user and maintenance manual of the pump),

SECURING THE COMPONENTS TO THE BASE
The pumps provided pre-coupled to an electric motor by means of couplings and any mechanical reducers, have already been
subjected to optimal alignment between the various transmission shafts, during assembly in the factory. However, during on site
machine installation, the alignment must be re-checked as follows:
- place the base on the floor of the slab by inserting the anchor bolts in the holes of the base without tightening the bolts;
- remove the coupling covers;
- tighten the bolts of the anchor bolts and recheck the axial, radial and parallel alignment, as described in the manuals of the
individual couplings.
If any misalignments are noted, return them within the allowed values according to the assembly instructions of the couplings;
- reposition the coupling covers before start-up.
It is also essential to periodically check the tightening torque of the bolts that secure the individual components to the base (including
the screws that hold the coupling cover).
15
CAVITATION
Besides being harmful to the pump, cavitation is a dangerous phenomenon in a potentially explosive atmosphere: check that the
pump has been chosen correctly by verifying that the NPSH value required by the pump is lower than the available NPSH value
of the system. The installer must calculate the available NPSH of the system (considering therefore also the filters, the valves
and all the fluid dynamic leaks in suction).
Varisco S.r.l. disclaims any liability for malfunctions caused by inadequate available NPSH, limiting itself to supplying
the NPSH value required by the pump.
