2. General description

Grundfos Liftaway C 40-1 is a compact mini lifting
8
station consisting of a tank and a wastewater pump,
type Unilift KP 150 or Unilift KP 250, with level switch
9
for automatic start/stop. The lifting station is
10
designed for the pumping of wastewater from
10
washbasins and washing machines.
The tank has a functional design with an easy-to-
10
clean white surface. The tank is designed for either
wall or floor mounting. The automatic lifting station is
easy to install and provides faultless operation.
These instructions apply to the Liftaway C 40-1 tank
and installation kit only. See also the installation and
operating instructions supplied with the pump.
2.1 Applications
The Liftaway C 40-1 in combination with the
Unilift KP 150 or Unilift KP 250 is designed for the
pumping of wastewater from washbasins and
washing machines where the wastewater cannot be
led directly to the sewer due to lack of a natural
downward slope.
The Liftaway C 40-1 must not be used
for the pumping of discharge from

toilets.
If you want to connect a shower, we recommend the
Sololift+ product range.
Typical applications of lifting stations:
•
Pumping of wastewater from basements below
sewer level.
•
Pumping of wastewater from existing buildings so
far away from the main soil stack that a natural
slope cannot be established. This situation may
arise in connection with renovation or
modernisation.
2.2 Pumped liquids
Wastewater not containing solid particles.
Liquid temperature: Maximum 70 °C.
The tank is resistant to weak acids with pH values of
4 to 10.
Do not discharge wastewater
