Guarantee
FLEX will provide the end consumer of a newly purchased power tool with
a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee commencing on the date the power
tool is purchased. The guarantee covers only defects which can be
attributed to a material and/or production fault as well as non-performance
of warranted characteristics. When making a claim under the guarantee,
enclose the original sales receipt with purchase date.
Repairs under the guarantee may be carried out only by workshops or
service centres authorised by Flex. A claim may be made under the
guarantee only if the power tool has been used as intended. In particular,
the guarantee does not cover wear and tear, improper use, partially or
completely dismantled power tools as well as any damage caused by
overloading the power tool, the use of non-permitted, defective or
incorrectly used insertable tools, damage to the insertable tool or
workpiece caused by the power tool, violent use, consequential damage
which can be attributed to improper or inadequate maintenance on the
part of the customer or a third party, damage caused by an external
influence or foreign objects, e.g. sand or stones, as well as damage
caused by non-compliance with the operating instructions, e.g. connection
to an incorrect mains voltage or current type. Claims for insertable tools or
accessories can only be made under the guarantee provided they are
used with power tools for the intended or permitted use.
Safety instructions
Before using this power tool, read and follow these operating instructions
and the enclosed safety instructions. Also observe the relevant national
industry regulations. Check grinding tools before use. Use undamaged
grinding tools only. The bore in the grinding tool must fit onto the chuck.
Do not use reducers or adapters. The attached grinding tool must be able
to rotate freely. After clamping on the grinding wheel, always test run the
power tool at no load for 30 seconds. While conducting this test run, keep
out of the danger zone. Wear goggles. Use only those tools and
accessories which we recommend. A grinding wheel which is out-of-
balance must not be used.
Always work with the guard hood. Do not strike, knock or grease grinding
wheels.
Firmly clamp the material which is to be ground and ensure that you have
a secure footing.
Do not damage the outer skin of the fillet weld grinder, otherwise electrical
safety cannot be guaranteed. Immediately replace damaged power cords
and plugs.
Wear goggles, ear protection and, if required, a dust mask, as well as
suitable clothing. Before carrying out any work on the power tool, always
pull out the mains plug. When the tool has been switched off, the wheel
continues running briefly.
To prevent injuries, operate the power tool with both hands in the
designated positions (handle, drive motor or grinder arm).
Do not switch on until both hands are gripping the power tool.

Intended use
The fillet weld grinder is especially suitable for grinding weld seams which
are situated in spaces and in inaccessible areas on welded constructions
or in fixtures and railings. Angles less than 90° do not pose a problem.
Ideal for finishing surfaces.
Significant advantages are:
– very acute interior angles can be ground
– grinding wheel can be removed, e.g. radius
– high stock removal rate
– easy handling
– grinding speed adjusted to material by speed preselection
Before carrying out any work on the power tool, always pull out the mains
plug. To increase personal safety, it is recommended in particular cases
to install a residual-current-operated circuit-breaker (30 mA), e.g. if the
power tool is exposed to extreme humidity or becomes very dirty due to
conductive dust.
Do not use the power tool for cutting.
It is not permitted, e.g. to work with saw blades, chain cutting wheels,
flapped discs or wire brushes.
Guard hood
Do not work without the guard hood.
Tools
Use only those tools and accessories which we recommend for this power
tool.
Attaching and changing the grinding wheel
Pull out the mains plug, the switch must be off. Attach the clamping flange,
with the guide diameter face up, to the output shaft. Insert the grinding
wheel over the guide diameter and centre in the clamping flange. Screw
the FIXTEC nut onto the output shaft and tighten by countering the
grinding wheel. Do not attach or change the grinding wheels while the
locking pin is in the gear housing, otherwise the toothed belt may be
damaged.
Maintenance
Carbon brushes
The power tool features cut-off carbon brushes. When the wear limit of the
cut-off carbon brushes is reached, the power tool switches off
automatically. Use only replacement cut-off carbon brushes which we
have supplied.
If other carbon brushes are used, our guarantee obligations will be
deemed null and void. The carbon brushes can be seen sparking through
the air inlet slots. If the carbon brushes spark excessively, switch off the
power tool immediately. To prevent serious damage, send the power tool
to one of our customer service workshops.
Cleaning
Always keep the appliance and ventilation slots clean to ensure that the
power tool functions properly and reliably. Under extreme application
conditions the processing of metals may cause conductive dust to become
deposited inside the housing. This may impair the protective insulation of
the housing. In such cases frequently blow out the power tool through the
air slots and connect a residual-current-operated circuit-breaker (FI)
upstream. It is recommended to use an extraction system.
Gears
Do not loosen the screws on the gear head during the warranty period,
otherwise our guarantee obligations will be deemed null and void.
