instructions below (#3-1):
1 - Raise the locking cam (#2-3c) until it stops. The lock button (#2-3d) must be in the open position.
2 - Press the opening push button (#2-3b) and rotate the bearing arm (#2-3e). The locking cam
(#2-3c) follows the opening movement. The bearing arm (#2-3e) is in the open position.
3 - Position the mobile fall arrester on the rope by passing the rope through the channel on the
mobile fall arrester provided for this purpose. Please note that the direction of use of the mobile
fall arrester is marked on the device. Assembling the device upside down constitutes a life-
threatening hazard (#5).
4 - Press the push button (#1-3b) and switch the bearing arm to the closed position (#1-3e). The
locking cam (#1-3c) is positioned in contact with the rope automatically. Make sure that the push
button (#1-3b) is in the off position.
5 - Connect the link element to the harness with an EN362 connector on the locking cam (#1-3c),
in the dedicated hole. Caution: ensure that the connector passes through the hole in the locking
cam (#5).
6 - Check the operation of the ASC'O® mobile fall arrester by sliding it up and down along the
flexible anchor line. Test that the fall arrester locks by tilting it downwards
quickly. Handling is done via the EN362 connector or the harness link (#1-4).
- Using the lock function #3-2:
• Switch the locking button (#2-3d) to the closed position.
• Keep the mobile fall arrester above the user.
• If the user wishes to progress along the anchor line, the
locking button (#2-3d) must be in the open position. This is to avoid creating slack (or an overload
respectively) in the anchor rope during ascent (or descent respectively). When switching the button
to the open position, the user must ensure that there is no immediate risk of falling.
• The locking function is used to lock the mobile fall arrester to its anchor line. It does not allow the
user to be held in the working position, and therefore should not be used to hold the user under
tension on the anchor line.
- Before each use, check the free space under the user's feet, the clearance (#4). This is to avoid
any collision with the ground or an obstacle in the path of the fall.
- During use, verify that the mobile fall arrester slides correctly over the entire length of the flexible
anchor line. The presence of any slack in the rope could increase the height of a fall. This comment
is even more applicable when the user is close to the ground, where the mass of the free rope is
the least (#5).
- During use, ensure that the fall arrester is correctly positioned to minimise the risk of falling and
the height of fall.
- During use, check the equipment on a regular basis. Its components must be protected from any
