sure you have clean filters attached and leave the blower device to run for a further 5 minutes before checking again.
If the airflow is still below 160 l/min, remove the blower device from service and return to an Authorised Service
Centre.
Note: Whilst waiting for the float to rise to the correct point, the blower device may be put down on a clean surface,
providing the airflow to the filters is not blocked and the float can move freely. However, the unit MUST be held with the
airflow indicator in the vertical position (see Fig 3) and showing a consistent reading when the airflow is checked.
Alarm Check
To check for the correct functioning of the alarms, place a hand over the outlet of the Powered Air Turbo. The audible
alarm should activate within 30 seconds.

Note: High environmental noise levels or use of hearing protection may interfere with the user hearing the audible
alarms. Users may need to check the display on the unit more frequently in these environments
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
DONNING
1. Select an approved breathing tube and connect top end to Facepiece or Headtop assembly. Note that an adaptor may
be needed to fit certain Headtops. Bend the tube to verify it is flexible. Inspect the breathing tube for tears, holes or
cracks and, if necessary, replace the Breathing Tube. The breathing tube should attach securely to the Facepiece or
Headtop.
2. See Facepiece User Instruction for information on donning and performing the necessary seal checks.
3. Connect the bottom end of the breathing tube to the outlet of the Powered Air Turbo. Ensure it is fitted firmly and do
not over-tighten.
4. Adjust and buckle the waist belt with the Powered Air Turbo fitted comfortably around your waist.
5. If using a Headtop, adjust as outlined in the appropriate User Instruction.
6. Start the Powered Air Turbo by pressing the power button. A single beep will sound to signal the Powered Air Turbo is oper-
ating. If the beep does not sound, remove the unit from use and return to an Authorised Service Centre. Note: After the
beep sounds, it can take up to 20 seconds for the airflow to stabilise. If an error code is displayed, see IN USE and FAULT
FINDING for more detail on displayed information.
7. If using a Headtop, don as described in the Headtop User Instructions.

Note: During use, the A value and P value will cycle on the display. In an alarm condition, the A0 and P0 will flash contin-
uously with an audible alarm.

Check the display on the Powered Air Turbo at regular intervals during use. If worn on the back, move it towards the left
side (as worn) so that the display is visible. Alternatively, ask a co-worker to check the display status at regular intervals.
Use in the 'power-off' state is not normal and could lead to a build-up of carbon dioxide and depletion of oxygen within
a headtop. If the power is off, vacate the contaminated area immediately. Power off with loose fitting headtops will provide
little or no protection. Power off with tight-fitting facepieces that are properly selected and worn will continue to provide a
level of protection to allow exit from the contaminated area.
