10. Replace rail, seating firmly in special rail
bracket.
11. Replace M10 bolt to secure rail to rail
bracket. Finger tighten plus 1/4-turn.
12. Begin to anchor rest of rail brackets,
starting with rail bracket at top of stairs.
Use only two (2) sheet metal screws:
one (1) on the wall side first, then one
(1) on the stairway side of rail.
NOTE: Wait to anchor rest of rail
brackets until running clearances
are checked .
NOTE: If bottom of rail is closer than
2" (51 mm) to stair stepnose,
remove screws, slide rail out
horizontally, and refasten
rail bracket .
13. Insert charge strips into rail.
Locate two (2) charge strip coils in rail
installation kit*. Hold one coil firmly to
prevent uncoiling, and carefully undo tape
securing coil.

SRE-K-3002 for 20' Non-Folding Rails
SRE-K-3050 for 16'/18' Folding Rails
14. Using tin snips, cut a 45° bevel on end of
charge contact strips (see images at left).
NOTE: This will make it MUCH easier
to insert strip into carrier .
15. Slide beveled end of charge contact strip
into charge contact strip carrier until it
slides under lower charge contact.
16. Cut off excess charge contact strip flush
with carrier.
17. Repeat Steps 13-17 for the second charge
contact strip coil.
