2 Safety instructions
The leak testing unit cannot be used in lieu of regular gravimetric testing within the scope of measur-
ing instrument monitoring activities. The device should be used in daily checks of the pipettes as a
safeguard for the periods between calibrations.
2.3 Excluded uses
•
The user is responsible for checking whether the device is suitable for a given application.
•
Do not use the device to aspirate liquids! Avoid aggressive vapors (corrosion hazard)! Further in-
formation is available on request.
•
Do not evacuate hollow vessels that are not specified for vacuum use; otherwise, the vessel may
burst!
2.4 Operating limits
The device offers a rapid and simple test for leaks in air-displacement pipettes within the following
limits:
•
Operating temperature 15 °C to 35 °C
•
Relative humidity max. 80%
•
Elevation at place of use max. 2000 meters above sea level
•
Storage temperature 0 °C to 50 °C
If the device is relocated, variations in temperature and humidity during transport and in the new en-
vironment can affect the measurements.
To avoid error messages, allow the PLT unit to acclimate in the testing room for a period of 2 hours be-
fore using it!
