Connection and start-up
Warning
Read warning notice and instruction
manual carefully prior to initial operation
and save the information for later use.
Permissible installation
Mains connection
Connect the machine to the correct mains supply.
Please read the type plate (U1) on the rear side of the machine.

Connection of shielding gas
Connect the gas hose, which branches off from the back panel
of the welding machine (3), to a gas supply with pressure
regulator (2-6 bar during operation). (Note: Some types of
pressure regulators require an output pressure higher than 2 bar
to function optimally). One gas cylinder can be mounted on the
bottle carrier on the back of the trolley.
Gas consumption
Depending on the welding task, joint type, gas type and weld
seam, the gas consumption will vary in ranges from 6-7 l/min at
low amperages (<25A) and up to 27 l/min at max. amperage.

The optimum gas protection is obtained and the risk of pores
and gas turbulence are minimized, if the machine is equipped
with IGC – Intelligent Gas Control. Avoid unnecessary gas
wastage partly by the synergic control of the gas flow but also
by controlled start, so that there is no overconsumption of gas
in the starting moment. External circumstances, however, such
as gas nozzle size, welding hose length etc. can affect the gas
coverage, so it is necessary to carry out an IGC calibration (see
page 15).
It is important to always ensure sufficient gas coverage, so
that contamination of the weld pool does not occur. It is
recommendable to carry out a control measurement of the gas
flow by measuring with a flow meter (81010000) at the end of
the gas cup. Adjust as needed the set gas flow rate differs from
the delivered flow rate.

Voltage stabilisation kit
The power source is configurable with a voltage stabilisation kit as a
safeguard against larger voltage variations, e.g. in case of generator
use where the machine is connected to a separate power supply.
Material consumption
Material consumption can be estimated by calculating welding time
in minutes times wire feed speed (m/min) times weight per meter of
the welding consumables in use.
Important!
In order to avoid destruction of plugs and
cables, good electric contact is required
when connecting earth cables and welding
hoses to the machine.
