Protecting the Unit from Frost

IMPORTANT !
If the unit is not used during the winter period, the
water contained in the system may freez e.
II.4.1.1
Protection of the unit from freezing w ith the
machine running
In this case, it is the micropr ocessor c ontrol board that prevents
freezing of the heat exc hanger.
When the s et is reached, the anti-freez e alarm i nter venes that stops the
mac hine, while the pump will continue to function regularly.

The us e of ethylene gl ycol is rec ommended if you do not wish to drain
the water from the hydraulic s ystem during the winter stoppage, or if the
unit has to s uppl y c hilled water at temperatures l ower than 5°C (the las t
case not c onsi dered is inherent the s ys tem di mensioni ng of the unit).
Mixing with glycol modifies the physical features of the water and
consequentl y the performanc e of the unit. T able "A" shows the
multipliers whic h allow the changes in performanc e of the units to be
determined in proportion to the required percentage of ethylene gl ycol.
The multipliers refer to the following conditions: condens er air input
temperature 35°C; chilled water temperature 7°C; temperature
differential at the evaporator 5°C (the s ame c oefficients can be us ed for
different wor k c onditions, as the size of their variati on c an be ignored).
