Instructions for precision adj ustment and
microprocessor management general
functioning-regulation of the unit
The regulati on of the unit is based on the evaporator water input
temperature. The temperature is controlled via l ateral band proportional
type regul ation. When the s et-point and the differential have been
selected on whic h the water temperature c ontr ol will be perfor med, on
the basis of the number of us able compress ors, the c ontroller its elf will
manage them in a way to satisfy the utility ther mal load.

II.5.2.1
Compressor functioning
With unit at a stands till, the oil level in the compress ors must be visible
through the indic ator.
Topping-up of the oil c an be c arried out after pumping-out the
compressors, using the press ure c onnecti on on the compress or inlet.
Once the integral protec tion has been acti vated, normal operati on is
automaticall y resumed when the windi ngs temperature drops below the
pre-set s afety value (this c an take from a few minutes to sever al hours).
This power circuit protection is managed by the micropr ocessor
controller. After its interventi on and succ essi ve res tore the alar m must
be res et from the control panel. The remote c ontrol of an i nter vention
signal light/LED of the pr otec tions for each compress or is
recommended.
II.5.2.2
Functioning of ST2: anti-freeze safety
temperature probe
After its i nter vention, the alarm must be r eset from the control pane.
The unit starts automaticall y only when the temperatur e of the water
exc eeds the i nter vention differential.
The efficienc y control of the anti-freez e protec tion c an be carried out
with the aid of a precision thermometer i mmersed together with the
probe in a contai ner containing cold water at a temperature below that
of the s et anti-freez e alarm s et. T his can be c arried out after the probe
has been removed from the s oc ket positi oned on evaporator output,
paying attention not to damage it during the oper ation. The probe must
be c arefull y repositioned by placi ng some conducti ve pas te in the
socket, inserting the probe and re-sealing the exter nal part with silicon
to avoid unscrewing.
II.5.2.3
Functioning of the electronic thermostatic
valve
The el ectronic thermos tatic expansion val ve is calibrated to maintain
the gas s uperheated by at leas t 5K, to avoid any liquid being s uc ked
into the c ompress or. Calibration inter ventions are not reques ted by the
operator as the val ve control s oftware monitors these operations
automaticall y.

II.5.1
Calibration of the safety and control
elements
The units are tested in the fac tor y, where they are also c alibrated and
the default par ameter s ettings are put in. These guarantee that the
appliances r un c orrectly in rated wor king conditions .
The followi ng elements monitor the mac hine safety:
• High pressure s witch (PA)
• Low press ure s witch (PB)
• High pressure safety val ve

II.5.2.4
Functioning of PA: high pressure switch
The high pressure switc h is a safety element in compliance with the
European Directi ves in force on the s ubjec t. For this reas on it must not
be tempered with or removed. If it must be replaced, the spar e part
must be supplied by
A non-conform press ure s witch does no guarantee a s ufficient safety
level in the unit.
After the high press ure s witch has been acti vated, it needs to be r eset
manuall y by firml y pressing the bl ac k button on the press ure s witch
itself.
II.5.2.5
Functioning of PB: low pressure sw itch
After the l ow press ure s witch has been acti vated, the alarm must be
reset at the c ontrol panel; the press ure s witch is reset automatically, but
onl y when the suction pressure reac hes the set differenti al value.
II.5.3
Eliminating Circuit Humidity
The units are ins pected i n the factory with the appropriate functioning
load. If during the oper ation of the machi ne ther e is evidenc e of
humidity in the refrigerant circuit, it is ess ential to drai n the circuit
completel y of refrigerant and elimi nate the c aus e of the pr oblem. T o
eliminate all the humi dity or when the circuit is opened for prolonged
periods of time, the mai ntenance technician must dry out the circuit by
evacuating it to 70 Pa. Succ essivel y, the r efrigerant fl uid load is
restored as indicated on the unit s erial number plate. If the pres ence of
burned oil or slurry is detected, the evacuation must be prec eded by
thorough washi ng of the circuit.
