Alternative anti-tip method:
If the anti-tip brackets cannot be mounted securely,
you must use the alternative method below. For
this method, you can use wooden boards to avoid
the risk of tipping over.
They must be installed as illustrated in the figure
below.
There must be no clearance between the appliance
and the wooden support.
The minimum section dimensions of the wooden
support must be 3" x 4" (76 mm x 102 mm). The
width of the support must be equal to the clearance
where it will be installed. This can be achieved
using one 4" x 4" (102 mm x 102 mm) or two 2" x 4"
(51 mm x 102 mm) pieces of framing lumber.
3" x 4"
(76 mm x 102 mm)
The calculation of blocking depth is based on a
standard niche depth. If the depth of the niche is
greater than 24" (610 mm), ensure the blocking
overlaps the upper rear fridge body by 2" (51 mm).
Position the wooden support, mark the location on
the rear wall, select suitable screws and mount it
securely.
WARNING:
The quantity and type of screws or fasteners
to be used for affixing wooden blocking
must be suitable for ensuring a secure
connection to the rear wall.
