DANGER
Water seeping into the battery may cause damage to internal circuits and risk of fire or explosion.
Should you suspect that water may have entered the battery, stop using the battery immediately
and return it to your dealer's after-sales service for checking.
PRESERVATION AND STORAGE
If the electrically power assisted cycle needs to be stored and will not be used for extended periods
of time, it must be kept in a dry, cool, closed space, that is ventilated if possible. The following
operations should also be carried out:
•
Carry out a general cleaning of the electrically power assisted cycle.
•
Remove the battery supplied with the electrically power assisted cycle from its housing and
store it in a dry, well-ventilated environment away from flammable materials (for example
materials that could explode in flames), preferably at a temperature between 10 °C and 20 °C.
•
Protect the exposed electrical contacts with anti-oxidising products.
•
Grease all surfaces that are not protected by paint or anti-corrosion treatments.
CAUTION
Do not store the product and/or the battery outdoors or inside a vehicle for an extended period of
time. Excessive sunlight, overheating, and excessive cold accelerate tyre ageing and jeopardize the
life of both the item and the battery.
Do not expose it to rain or water or immerse it in water to wash it.
Preservation and storage of the battery
If the battery will not be used for more than 3 months, store it at a charge level between
approximately 30% and 60%. If the battery is stored discharged for long periods despite the
low self-discharge, this will cause damage to the battery and its charge capacity will be greatly
reduced.
TRANSPORTATION
To ensure the safe transport of the bike, inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle used for
transport or outside (e.g. bicycle carrier), in addition to providing for the preventive removal of the
battery and the accessory components installed on it, perform the relative anchoring through the
use of appropriate fastening materials (bands or cables) and coupling devices in good condition
and installed so as not to damage the frame, cables and other parts of the product. It is the users
responsibility to ascertain the suitability of the equipment used to transport the bike by fitting and
installing devices in accordance with the legal requirements of the country in which it is ridden.
Make sure that all the electrical cables are well connected and that the connection ports are
closed and protected like all the electrical and electronic components with suitable materials to
prevent the risk of possible exposure and water infiltration.
