Setting the regulating valve
(image D1)
The cooking level can be set with the
regulating valve. The regulating valve has
4 setting options:
for cooking without pressure or re-
ducing pressure during cooking:
I with low pressure (approx. 0.7 bar):
for cooking vegetables (e.g., broccoli,
cauliflower, peas and beans), fish,
crustaceans and food that swells or
produces foam (such as peas, beans
or meat soups)
II with medium pressure (approx. 0.85
bar): for cooking heavy vegetables
(e.g., kohlrabi, carrots and pumpkins)
as well as chicken
III with high pressure (approx. 1.0
bar): for cooking meat, soup, rice and
potatoes

Using the steam insert
The steam insert can be used to steam
delicate foods such as fish or vegetables.
The food is then not immersed in the
water and is gently cooked by the rising
steam.
Fill the pot with at least 1 litre of water
insert the wire stand supplied into the
pot.
Put the steam insert with the food
onto the wire stand.
Heating up
After filling, close and set the the cooking
level (regulating valve to level I-III), pro-
ceed as follows:
Put the pressure cooker onto a suita-
ble hob. The hob should not be larger
than the pot base.
Set the regulating valve to the desired
cooking level. Pay attention to our rec-
ommendations in the section Notes
on cooking times (page 31).
Switch the hob to maximum power.
At the beginning of the cooking proc-
ess, steam will escape from the safety
valve. This is normal since the pres-
sure is not yet high enough to close
the safety valve.
