Self test
Whenever the tachograph is turned on, a test is performed to check its internal
functionalities. If the test is successful, the screen below will be shown with the
software version (which may vary depending on the application). If the test fails
an internal error message will be displayed on the screen.

Description

The screen as above indicates all key information from the BVDR.
(1) Current vehicle speed. At certain speeds the speed indication will blink for 5
seconds, which is a normal feature of the product;
(2) Date programmed in digital tachograph as DD/MM/YY;
(3) Local time as HH:MM;
(4) Total odometer of vehicle;
(5) Driver code - Linked driver.

Attention
In case of failed internal test, the vehicle's driver must as soon
as possible drive the vehicle to an authorized VDO station for
evaluation and fault correction. In case of verification by the
competent authority and with this failure, the vehicle can be
seized and the driver fined.
