Display example
Description
Warm-up phase 2
20.9
The
side of the display.
The measured value is displayed on
O 2
Vol.%
the left side.
Analog interface: Measured value
Relays: Behavior as in measuring
mode (the fault relay does not indicate
warm-up phase 2).
1) When the gas concentration exceeds the full scale deflection of the 4
to 20 mA interface, the display continues to display the measured
value plus "Analog interface over range"
2) Only when warning current is activated. Factory setting: Deactivated.
7.3.5 Ending special states
Error display / warning display
Error displays and warning displays are usually non-latching.
As soon as the causes of the errors or warnings have been
rectified, no more error or warning is displayed. Exceptions
are "SensorAlive fault detection" and "SensorAlive clogging
detection".
To eliminate the causes, display the error or warning (see
"The Information menu", page 18) and start troubleshooting
(see "Troubleshooting", page 25).
Value exceeds/falls below the measuring range
The display indicates that the gas concentration is beyond the
measuring range of the sensor. The information on the display
disappears as soon as the gas concentration is back within
the measuring range. After an over range occurrence, the
sensitivity and response time of the sensor may deteriorate.
NOTICE
Sensor malfunction
Gas concentrations outside the sensor's measuring range can
cause the sensor to malfunction.
► Recalibrate the sensor if necessary.

Polytron
8200 CAT with DQ sensor:
An over range has to be acknowledged with [OK] after
verifying that the gas concentration is below 100 %LEL (e.g.
using a portable instrument).
Latching alarms is the default setting of the instrument.
For instruments without relays, the over range can be set to
non-latching. In this case, the over range indication
disappears. The control unit must support this function! For
further information see: "Setting the DQ sensor latching",
page 37.

Polytron
8200 CAT with LC sensor:
WARNING
Ambiguous readings for measured values that exceed
the measuring range
Latching alarms for over range situations are not supported by
LC sensors.
For safe operation in line with BVS 13 ATEX G 001 X, the gas
detector must be operated with a controller that can display
latching alarms. Do not use internal alarm relays of the gas
detector.
► Make sure that over range latching is active at the
controller.
After over range measuring values, verify that the gas
concentration is below 100 %LEL (e.g. using a portable
instrument).
7.4
Info mode and function keys
7.4.1 Opening Info mode
Info mode is used to show relevant device information. This
does not interrupt the normal operation of the device.
● Tap and hold

If no key is tapped within 30 seconds, the instrument will
automatically return to normal operation.
7.4.3 Using function key
Using the function key, a pre-set function can be executed. By
default the faults are displayed.
● Tap and hold
for 1 seconds in measuring mode.
To configure the function key, see 11.4 Configuring function
key.
