** Note: Especially in pitch dark situations,
flash pictures of people or pets may exhibit
"red-eye." This occurs when flash illumination
reflects off the retina causing eyes to appear
red. lf the shooting mode is set to Flash-AUTO
with
Red-Eye
Reduction,
an
incandescent
lamp in the flash illuminates when necessary
for at least 1 second before exposure to con-
tract the subject's pupils and minimize
the
chance of red-eye. During illumination of this
red-eye reduction lamp, make sure the sub-
ject is looking at the lamp.
When the Red-Eye Reduction lamp lights, the
fast blinking green lamp changes to lit continu-
ously.
