Q Protein Preset
Touch or move the Controller Knob over the Meat Probes
and press the Controller Knob up or down to access
the Probes sub-screen. In this sub-screen, choose a
protein preset instead of setting an exact desired Set
temperature. The preset temperature of each protein
is the safe minimum internal cooking temperature to
ensure doneness. Touch or nudge the Controller Knob to
the left or right to select the desired protein preset. Push
the Controller Knob to confirm the selection or touch
anywhere on the screen. The protein preset temperatures
are as follow:
• Beef: 60°C / 140°F
• Pork: 63°C / 145°F
• Chicken: 74°C / 165°F
• Fish: 63°C / 145°F

With all outdoor appliances, outside weather conditions play a big
part in the performance of your grill and the cooking time needed
to perfect your meals. This appliance must not be placed under an
overhead combustible ceiling or overhang (A). Keep your grill in an
area clear from combustible materials, gasoline, and other flamma-
ble vapors and liquids.
All Pit Boss® units should keep a minimum clearance of 914mm
(36 inches) from combustible constructions and this clearance
must be maintained while the grill is operational. (B)

Parts are located throughout the shipping carton, including under-
neath the grill. Inspect the grill, parts, and hardware blister pack
after removing from the protective shipping carton. Discard all
packaging materials from inside and outside of the grill before as-
sembly, then review and inspect all parts by assembly guide.
If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assem-
ble. Contact your dealer or Pit Boss® Customer Care for parts.

Assemble the unit according to assembly guide instructions.

R Meat Probes
Touch or move the Controller Knob over the Meat Probes
and press the Controller Knob up or down to access the
Probes sub-screen. In this sub-screen, touch or nudge the
Controller Knob up/down to highlight Probe 1 or Probe
2. If highlighted, that is the Meat Probe selected. Rotate
the Controller Knob to set, then push the Controller Knob
to confirm value or touch anywhere on the screen. See
Controller Functions for more detail on using the meat
probes.
