Do not fell trees near electrical wires or buildings.

Cut only when visibility and light are adequate for you to see clearly.
Proper Grip on Handles
◾
Wear non-slip gloves for maximum
grip and protection.
◾
With the saw on a firm, flat surface,
hold the saw firmly with both hands.
◾
Always grasp the front handle with
the left hand and the rear handle
with the right hand.
◾
The fingers should encircle the
handle, with the thumb wrapped
under the front handle (Fig. 20a).
WARNING:
handed (cross-handed) grip, or any stance
which would place your body or arm
across the chain line.
WARNING:

hold the front handle with your right hand.
Never allow any part of your body to be in the chain line while operating a chain saw
(Fig. 20b).

Both feet should be on solid ground,
with weight evenly spread between

The left arm should be straight,
with the elbow locked. This helps to
withstand the forces generated by
kickback.
◾
Your body should always be to the
left of the chain line.
