SWEEPER REPAIR GUIDE
Anyone carrying out repairs on a machine incorrectly, resulting in injury to the user, is always responsible.
Always carry out repairs in accordance with the specifi cations provided in the use and maintenance manual, which must always be available with the machine. Never make
modifi cations to the machine. Replacement of any component with another of diff erent characteristics also constitutes a modifi cation. Always use original spare parts. If
in doubt, always contact the authorized technical after-sales service.
Dismantling:
Always use suitable tools for dismantling the machine. Never modify the assembly/fi xing/closure characteristics of the machine's components.
Labels:
Never cover the original labels containing safety information with your own. Never replace the nameplate containing the manufacturer's name, the identifi cation data and
the serial number. When necessary, replace the safety labels with new ones.
Switches:
Switches must only be replaced with identical originals or models specifi cally referred to in the manuals with the same characteristics and rated data. Some switches may
be identifi ed as safety devices; when testing, always check that they are operating correctly.
Drive Motor:
The drive motor must only be replaced with another original part. A similar but not identical drive motor may modify the machine's characteristics with regard to perfor-
mance, safety and EMC. When necessary, replace the EMC safety devices with other original parts of the same characteristics and rated data. When necessary, replace the
brushes with original spare parts of the same characteristics. Always check the condition of the transmission belts and replace them when necessary. Make adjustments
in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
Vacuum Motor:
The vacuum motor must only be replaced with another original part. A similar but not identical suction motor may modify the machine's characteristics with regard to
performance, safety and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility). When necessary, replace the EMC safety devices with other original parts of the same characteristics and
rated data. When envisaged, replace the brushes of electric motor with original spare parts of the same characteristics. After replacing the suction motor, it may
also be necessary to replace the gaskets; check their condition and if necessary replace them with original spare parts. Never modify the dimensions of the air ducts or
the motor ventilation grilles/slits.
Main brush:
Replace the brush with original spare parts only. Once the brush has been fi tted, check its alignment with the fl oor. Check the condition of the transmission. Once the
brush has been replaced, check its fi xing to the hubs and its rotation in its seat. Test the machine when the brush has been replaced. Do not modify the brush size.
Make adjustments in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
Side brushes:
Replace the side brushes with original spare parts. If necessary, replace the brush drive motors with original spare parts. Do not replace the brush or brushes with
others of diff erent sizes. If necessary, adjust belts, chains, drive mechanisms, etc., following the instructions provided in this manual. Make adjustments in accordance with
the instructions in this manual.
Safety devices:
The safety devices installed are specifi ed in this use and maintenance manual; if in doubt, do not hesitate to contact the authorized after-sales service During
testing, always check their condition. Replace the safety devices (when necessary) with original spare parts only.
Documentation of the replacement safety devices installed (conformity certifi cate, testing certifi cate, etc.) should be kept.
Wiring:
Do not modify the gauge, colour, type or characteristics of cables. Always use original spare parts. During testing, always check the continuity values of the earth circuit,
the insulation and leakage current and the eff ectiveness of the insulating devices.
Filters:
Always check the condition of the fi lters and replace them if necessary with original spare parts. Check the effi ciency of the fi lter-shaker device.
If the machine is equipped with fi lter fouling warning light, always check its operation and replace it necessary. Never modify the machine's fi ltering system.
Accessories:
Never fi t any accessory not specifi cally referred to in the manuals: the optional accessories are always specifi ed by constructor. Install original accessories only, where
envisaged. If non original accessories are already installed on the machine, formally inform the customer of this in writing (keep a copy).
Assembly:
Always use suitable tools when assembling the machine. Never modify the assembly/fi xing/closure characteristics of the machine's components
Always check the tightness of screws with a torque wrench.
Testing:
Always test the machine in relation to the maintenance/repairs carried out. Always keep evidence (documentation) of the testing performed (for at least 10 years).
Documentation:
Document every operation performed as far as possible. Keep documentation (delivery notes, invoices, certifi cates, etc.) relating to the repair/maintenance work done for
a period of at least 10 years.
General information:
Always replace any damaged component which may aff ect the safety or correct operation of the machine.
If the component required is not available from constructor or its authorised dealers, contact the constructor after-sales service for information as to how to proceed. If
you believe that the machine being repaired is not suffi ciently safe, do not carry out the repair and inform the customer (in a written statement) of the faults noted. Always
remember that "repairing a machine always involves responsibility on the part of the person rendering the service".
Before consigning the repaired machine to the customer, make sure (by testing) that the repair has been eff ective.
Always document the repair carried out (by means of test certifi cate, work record, delivery document) and conserve it for a period of at least 10 years.
