Inbetriebnahme des Geräts
Vor der Erstinbetriebnahme folgende Punkte beachten:
1. Keine PE-Leiter durch einen Messstromwandler führen.
2. Störende Magnetfelder in der Nähe der Messstrom-
wandler verhindern.
3. Die maximal zulässige Leitungslänge zu den Mess-
stromwandlern muss eingehalten sein.
4. Anfang und Ende des BS-Busses müssen terminiert sein.
Abschlusswiderstand R (=ON).
5. Die zulässige Länge der BS-Bus-Leitung darf max. 1200
Meter betragen.
6. Die maximale Anzahl der EDS44x im Bussystem darf
nicht überschritten werden. (siehe Handbuch)
7. Bus-Adressen dürfen nicht doppelt vergeben sein.
Erstinbetriebnahme
1. Schließen Sie das Gerät und die Messstromwandler an.
2. Verbinden Sie Ihre Geräte über den BS-Bus (EDS44x-L)
oder BB-Bus (EDS44x-S) miteinander.
3. Schalten Sie die Versorgungsspannung zu. Die LED
„ON" blinkt beim Einschalten bis das Gerät betriebsbe-
reit ist.
4. Stellen Sie die BS-Bus-Adresse ein
5. Die Kanal-LEDs zeigen die eingestellte Adresse durch
Leuchten an.
6. Beseitigen Sie alle möglicherweise angezeigten
Isolationsfehler und Gerätefehler über das ISOMETER®
oder die RESET-Taste des EDS44x-L.
7. Das EDS44x ist richtig angeschlossen.
8. Alle 60 Minuten erfolgt ein Wandleranschlusstest.
Während des Tests blinkt die LED „ON".
Zur Inbetriebnahme des ISOMETER®s und des Systems aus
EDS44x und ISOMETER® beachten Sie die Dokumentation
des ISOMETER®s.

Commissioning of the device
Prior to initial commissioning following Aspects
1. Do not lead PE conductors through a measuring current
transformer.
2. Avoid disturbing magnetic fields in the vicinity of the
measuring current transformers.
3. The maximum permissible cable length to the measu-
ring current transformers must be observed.
4. The beginning and end of the BS bus must be termin-
ated. Terminating resistor R (=ON).
5. The maximum permissible length of the BS bus cable is
1200 metres.
6. The maximum number of EDS44x in the bus system
must not be exceeded. (see manual)
7. An address is not assigned twice.
Initial commissioning
1. Connect the device and the current transformer.
2. Connect the devices to each other via the BS bus
(EDS44x-L) or BB-Bus (EDS44x-S).
3. Switch the supply voltage on. The LED "ON" flashes
during power up until the device is ready for operation.
4. Set the appropriate BS bus address.
5. The selected channel address is indicated by a lighting
LED.
6. Eliminate all possible displayed insulation and device
faults via the ISOMETER® or the EDS44x-L "RESET" but-
ton.
7. Ensure the EDS44x is properly connected.
8. A transformer connection test is carried out every 60
minutes. During each test, the "ON" LED flashes.

EDS44x and ISOMETER®, refer to the ISOMETER® documen-
tation.
