1. Safety instructions
IMPORTANT!
Keep this manual in a safe place and fully familiarize yourself with the following instructions before
installing the UPS. Do not use the UPS until you have fully understood all safety guidelines and operating
instructions. Installation and wiring must be carried out in compliance with local laws and regulations. Any
installation and connection of the UPS that deviates from accepted practices absolves Infosec
Communication of any liability.
Transport
1. Only transport the UPS in its original packaging to protect it from shocks and impacts.
Correct preparation and installation of the device
1. Condensation may occur when the UPS is moved directly from a cold environment to a warm one.
It must be completely dry before installation. Please wait at least two hours to allow the UPS to
acclimate to the environment.
2. Do not install the UPS in humid environments or near running water.
3. Do not install the UPS in a location exposed to direct sunlight or near a heating device.
4. The UPS should be placed in an air-conditioned room with a temperature not exceeding 20°C.
Above this temperature, battery life will be reduced. At temperatures above 30°C, battery life is
halved (1 to 2 and a half years).
5. Do not obstruct the ventilation grilles of the UPS. For safe operation, the UPS must be installed in
a well-ventilated and unconfined area with optimum airflow. Leave sufficient space on each side
for ventilation.
6. Do not place anything on top of the UPS, and leave a clear space of about 20 cm around the UPS
to avoid overheating or fire risks.
7. Install the UPS in a room with controlled temperature and humidity, free from any transmission
interference.
8. Disconnect the UPS from the power supply and switch it off before cleaning with a damp cloth (do
not use cleaning products).
9. Do not leave any containers containing liquids on or near the UPS.
10. Arrange cables in such a way as to prevent tripping.
11. Protect the UPS from any entry of fluids or foreign objects.
12. Only a qualified and authorized technician should replace dedicated protection components such
as fuses, batteries, fans etc.
13. The mains power outlet used to supply power to the UPS must be protected by a 16A double-pole
circuit breaker with a differential device.
