a cool, dry environment. During storage, recharge the batteries according to the following table:
Storage temperature
25 °C to 40 °C
40 °C to 45 °C
To recharge the batteries connect the UPS to the mains supply, and the charger will start automatically.
5-2. Maintenance
The UPS operates with dangerous voltages. Repairs may only be carried out by qualified service
personnel.
Even after the UPS has been disconnected from the grid, the components inside the system are
still connected to the potentially dangerous battery pack.
Before carrying out any service or maintenance, disconnect the batteries and check that there are
no dangerous currents or voltages across high-capacity capacitors, such as BUS capacitors.
Only persons authorized to work with live parts (TST bat) and familiar with the necessary
precautions may replace the batteries and supervise the work. Unauthorized personnel must not remain
in the vicinity of the batteries.
Check that there is no voltage across the battery terminals and that earthing is correct before
carrying out any maintenance or repair work. The battery circuit of this device is not isolated from the
incoming voltage. Dangerous voltages may exist between battery terminals and earth.
Batteries can cause arcing, and their short-circuit current is very high. Before servicing, remove all
wristwatches, rings and other personal metal items, and use only tools with insulated grips and handles for
servicing.
Batteries should only be replaced with the same number and type of batteries.
Do not attempt to dispose of batteries by burning them. They could explode. Batteries must be
collected and recycled correctly and in accordance with local regulations.
