Connection of external battery modules (from 2000 VA)
When connecting external battery modules, please ensure correct polarity. Connect the positive terminal
of the battery module to the positive terminal of the UPS external battery connector, and the negative
terminal of the battery module to the negative terminal of the UPS external battery connector.
Incorrect polarity connection will cause the UPS to malfunction internally. We recommend adding a circuit
breaker between the positive terminal of the battery module and the positive terminal of the UPS's
external battery connector, to prevent damage to the battery modules in the event of an internal
malfunction.
The required specifications for the circuit breaker are: voltage ≧ 1.25 x battery voltage/battery set;
current ≧ 50A.
Please select the battery size and number of batteries according to the desired runtime and UPS
specifications. To prolong battery life, we recommend using them in a temperature range of 15°C to 25°C.
INFOSEC UPS System battery cabinets, specifically designed for this range of UPS, are already fitted with
the required protection. We recommend that you use these to avoid any risk of misconnection.
Step 1: External battery connection (from 2000 VA)
Select battery size and number of connections according to runtime requirements and UPS specifications.
Connect external batteries to the UPS via a battery connector (for extended autonomy only).
