comparing with cutter
- lift the kickback guard B. Place the guide bar C on the
mounting surface. Make sure it is correctly positioned
over the tension pin W. t
- attach the side cover F as illustrated y
- lightly tighten the side cover knob E by turning it
clockwise. Do not fully tighten the knob E until after you
have adjusted the chain tension.
! the saw chain must be properly tensioned before
using
Tensioning chain
- loosen the side cover knob E to release the tension pin
W as shown in figure u.
- ensure that the guide bar C has some movement.
- check the chain tension by pulling the chain D upward.
The correct chain tension is achieved when the saw
chain D can be lifted by approx. 2 mm from the guide
bar C in the centre i.
- pull the saw chain D along the upper side of the guide
bar C from one end to the other several times i. The
chain G should feel tight but still move freely.
- tighten the side cover knob E firmly to fix the guide bar

Charging battery
! read the safety warnings and instructions
provided with the charger
Removing/installing the battery 2
Attaching storage clip p
attach the storage clip L to the drill with the supplied
screw.
Battery level indicator a
- press the battery level indicator button K to show the
current battery level aa
! when the lowest level of the battery indicator
starts flashing after pressing button K ab, the
battery is empty
! when 2 levels of the battery indicator start flashing
after pressing button K ac, the battery is not
within the allowable operating temperature range
Battery protection
The machine is suddenly being switched off or prevented
from being switched on, when
- the load is too high --> remove load and restart
- the battery temperature is not within the allowable
operating temperature range of -20 to +50°C --> 2
levels of the battery level indicator start flashing when
pressing button K ac; wait until battery has returned
within the allowable operating temperature range
- the battery is nearly empty (to protect against
deep discharge) --> a low battery level or flashing low
battery level ab is shown by the battery level indicator
when pressing button K; charge battery
! do not continue to press the on/off switch after the
machine is switched off automatically; battery may
be damaged
Lubrication s
Chain life and cutting capacity depend on optimum
lubrication. The chain is automatically lubricated with
chain oil during operation.
! the pruning saw is not supplied filled with oil; it is
essential to fill with oil before use
! never operate the pruning saw without chain oil or
when the oil level is below about 1/5 the capacity
symbol V
of the oil tank, as this will result in damage to the
product
! do not smoke or bring any fire or flame near the oil
or the pruning saw. Oil may spill and cause a fire.
- clean the oil-tank cap M and the area around it to
ensure that no dirt falls into the oil tank P
- position the pruning saw on its side on a firm, flat
surface with the tank cap M facing upwards. Lift and
twist the cap tab N counterclockwise to remove the cap.
- pour the bar and chain oil into the tank. Do not let the oil
spill from the opening. Do not overfill and leave approx.
5 mm space between the oil level and the inside edge
of the tank to allow for expansion. Wipe off any excess
oil.
- replace and fasten the cap M
! use only readily biodegradable chain oil
! to prevent oil seepage when the saw is not in use,
empty the oil tank after each use, and then run the
saw for one minute
! to prevent rust on the chain and bar sprocket,
make sure the chain is lightly lubricated before
storing for a long period of time
Kickback safety devices
- the pruning saw is equipped with a kickback guard B to
lower risk of injury from kickback by preventing access
to the saw chain D d
! keep all parts of your body away from the guard
during operation
! never clamp or tie the kickback guard in the open
position f
! do not attempt to cut with the top edge of the bar
- the bucking spikes X below the kickback guard B are
designed to provide greater control of the saw while
cutting. They help to hold the saw steady against the
branch or limb during cutting g
! always press the bucking spikes against the
material being cut to maintain better control of
the saw
- the saw is also equipped with an electric brake, when
the trigger switch H is released, the electric brake
engages automatically to quickly stop the chain rotation
On/off h
- press and hold the lock-off button G, then squeeze the
trigger switch H to start the saw
- release the lock-off button G and continue to squeeze
the trigger H for continued operation
- switch off the machine by releasing the trigger switch H
Operating the machine j
- always hold the pruning saw with both hands: with one
hand on the handle J and the other hand
saw from
above;
! the pruning saw must be running at full speed
before it makes contact with the wood
- do not force the chain while cutting; let the chain do
the work
- use the pruning saw only with secure footing
! beware when reaching the end of the cut; the
weight of the saw may change unexpectedly as it
cuts free from the wood (accidents may occur to
legs and feet)
! beware the saw chain is not touching the ground
or any other objects
! do not overreach and do not cut above shoulder
