ENJOYING SURROUND SOUND
Digital surround
You can enjoy any one of the following
five Digital surround functions.
MPRO LOGIC 3D-PHONIC:
You can enjoy the ambience of Dolby
Surround if you use this function when
viewing Dolby Surround encoded
programmes. This function supports
three modes.
NORMAL (normal mode):
You can enjoy the ambience of Dolby
Surround.
CINEMA/SPORT (cinema/sport
mode):
The surround effect ideal for cinema
and sports programmes will be
produced.
MUSIC (music mode):
The surround effect ideal for music
programmes will be produced.
MIDANCE CLUB:
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a
dance club.
MICONCERT HALL:
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a
concert hall.
MSTADIUM:
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a
stadium.
MHYPER SOUND:
Gives monaural sound the spacious
feeling of stereo sound.

* PRO LOGIC 3D-PHONIC will not produce
the correct effect except with Dolby
Surronnd encoded programmes.
¢ The correct effect is not produced if you
use functions other than HYPER SOUND
with monaural sound programmes.
¢ HYPER SOUND will not produce the
correct effect in stereo sound programmes.

The DIGITAL SURROUND MENU
appears, and the function selected
in this menu is the active function.
* To cancel the surround function,

¢ If " {1 CONNECTED" appears at the
bottom of the menu, unplug the
headphones, and press S400
(surround) button again to display the
DIGITAL SURROUND MENU.
* If your headphones are connected to
your TV when enjoying the Digital
surround, the Headphone surround
function is automatically activated, and
you can enjoy surround sound on your
headphones. When you have selected
PRO LOGIC 3D-PHONIC or HYPER
SOUND, the 3D HEADPHONE
function is active. When other functions
are selected, the Headphone surround
function of the same name is activated.
To select the PRO LOGIC 3D-
PHONIC mode and adjust the effect
level:
1. Select PRO LOGIC 3D-
PHONIC in the DIGITAL
SURROUND MENU, and press
(Picture/sound) button.
The PRO LOGIC 3D-PHONIC
menu
appears.

Headphone surround
You can enjoy surround sound on your
headphones. You can enjoy any one of
the following four Headphone surround
functions.
™@3D HEADPHONE:
You can enjoy the broad atmosphere
of natural sounds.
MDANCE CLUB:
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a
dance club.
M CONCERT HALL:
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a
concert hall.
MB STADIUM:
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a
stadium.
1. Press 224, (Headphone
Surround) button.
The HEADPHONE SURROUND
MENU appears, and the function
selected in this menu is the active
function.
* To cancel the Headphone surround
function, press 224, (Headphone
Surround) button again.

Dolby Pro Logic
Surround
This TV incorporates a Dolby Pro
Logic Surround decoder so that you
can enjoy Dolby Pro Logic Surround.
To enjoy Dolby Pro Logic Surround,
audio amplifiers and speakers must be
connected. For details, see page 22.

headphones.
