When the fall indicator is activated, the red color appears: do not use the fall arrest device.
Have the fall arrest device inspected and checked the by the manufacturer or a competent organization, mandated by
them.
The fall indicator swivel should be replaced follow the instructions described in their own technical specifications.
2.2 USE INSTRUCTION
AN120XXU: This fall arrest device is connected by its handle to the anchor point. The fastening point (located at the top of the casing) of the fall
arrest device is connected to the anchoring point of the structure by a connector.
AN170XXU: The attachment point of the fall arrest device is an anchor located at the top of the casing. The fastening point (located at the top of the
casing) of the fall arrest device is connected to the anchoring point of the structure by a connector.
AN180XXU: The attachment point of the fall arrest device is a swivel located at the top of the casing. The fastening point (located at the top of the
casing) of the fall arrest device is connected to the anchoring point of the structure by a connector.
AN120XXU, AN170XXU, AN180XXU:
The end of strap or cable is connected to a rear fastening point of a harness by a connector.
(The sternal attachment point of a harness will be used only in exceptional circumstances).
To be implemented with the fall arrest device, the connectors should have a swivel-type pivoting function.
The fall arrest harness is the only body grip to be allowed for use with a fall arrest system.
The fall arrest device is equipped either with a retractable strap or cable.
The fall arrest device can be equipped with elements of different endings or different connectors.
In these cases, follow the instructions described in their own manual.
Some fall arrest devices are equipped with a fall indicator function visible on the swivel.
OPERATION:
When attached to the anchor point above the user, this fall arrest device allows for large vertical movements and large horizontal movements on
a horizontal or inclined plane.
During the user's movement phases, the cable or the strap is wound and unwound on a drum. The cable or the strap is constantly held tight by a
return spring. In the case of a fall, a lock blocks the progress of the cable or the strap and instantly stops the initiated fall.
For fall arrest devices equipped with the fall indicator function: a red color appears on the swivel during a fall.

3.0 Inspection and Maintenance
Before any DEVICE implementation operation, set up a rescue plan to deal with any emergency that may occur during the operation.
SHELF LIFE:
Metal products and mechanical products (self retractable fall arrest device, sliding, work on ropes, anchors etc. ...) : Maximum duration of 20
years from the date of manufacture (including storage and use). The shelf life is given as an indication. The following factors can cause it to vary greatly: -Non-
compliance with the manufacturer's instructions for transport, storage and use /-"Aggressive" work environment: marine atmosphere, chemicals, extreme
temperatures, sharp edges... /-Particularly intensive use /-Shock or significant constraint /-Disregard for the product item's history. In the case of doubt or if the device
was used to stop a fall, it must be immediately withdrawn from use and returned to the manufacturer or any competent person appointed by them. ▪Warning: these
factors can cause damage invisible to the naked eye. Warning: certain extreme conditions can shorten the shelf life by a few days. If the fall indicator is activated (Red
band appears), the product can not be used anymore. It's essential to send it back to a service center for checking. If in doubt, always remove the product for it to
undergo either: - a review /- destruction. In the case of doubt or if the device was used to stop a fall, it must be immediately withdrawn from use and returned to the
