B1 BRAVOMATIC INSTALLATION
B1.1 Before installation
Before installing BravoMATIC make sure that the system delivers water intended for human
consumption complying with the provisions of the Italian Legislative Decree No. 31/01, as
subsequently amended and supplemented.
BravoMATIC is not equipped, in its standard version, with anti-flooding devices or with devices aimed at
verifying, checking and triggering an alarming in the event of uncontrolled water leaks. If necessary, provide
for a suitable anti-flooding device separately.
Check for the presence of a visible drain properly dimensioned in order to correctly receive and drain the
water coming from the filter during the backwashing stage.
Do not install BravoMATIC downstream of boilers or in applications involving the passage inside the filter of
water above 30 °C. Install BravoMATIC upstream of the equipment to be protected.
Pay attention to the threads of the connections that could cause hand cuts and abrasions.
B1.2 Characteristics of the place of installation
BravoMATIC must be installed in a hygienically suitable, dry, clean place, indoors, away from: frost, direct
exposure to sunlight, humidity and atmospheric agents (rain, snow, hail). Do not install BravoMATIC in
wells, near drains, in foul-smelling places. Do not install it where there may be chemical vapors, gases or
fumes of any kind. Avoid installation in confined spaces that do not allow an easy performance of the
ordinary and extraordinary maintenance operations.
The permissible limit valuesof the environmental parameters for the installation of BravoMATIC are as
follows:
Minimum/maximum ambient temperature (°C): 5 - 40
B1.3 Applicable regulations
The installation of BravoMATIC must be performed in compliance with the provisions of the Italian
Ministerial Decree N. 37/08, as well as of the Italian Ministerial Decree No. 25/12. Before installing the
filter, make sure that the system complies with any laws or regulations in force or local recommendations
issued by competent local offices.
B1.4 General instructions for installation
Installation has to be carried out in a workmanlike manner, in compliance with all applicable laws and the
rating plate data of the appliance itself.
The plumbing system in which the filter is installed and the installation of the filter itself must be carried
out in compliance with the laws in force (Italian Ministerial Decree No. 37/08). The Manufacturer declines
all liability for damages to property or persons resulting from the incorrect installation of the filter and/or
the installation of the filter in a system not complying with the laws in force.
All materials used for the construction of water distribution systems for human consumption must comply
with the Italian Ministerial Decree No. 174/04. The construction and modification of a water distribution
system intended for human consumption requires performing the interventions in such a way as not to
jeopardize the hygiene of the system. After its construction or modification, a water distribution system
intended for human consumption has to be washed and disinfected according to the requirements of the
EN 806:4 standard.
The filter must not be installed between the boiler and the safety devices.
The plumbing systems created for the installation of equipment connected to the water supply network
must be equipped with a system capable of ensuring the non-return in the network of the treated water, as
well as with a manual or automatic by-pass valve system that allows the delivery of untreated water,
interrupting the supply of the treated one.
The filter drain connection must be conveyed into a visible drain in a stable manner.
Prevent solvents, oils, greases, acidic or caustic substances and detergents to come into contact with the
external plastic and brass parts of the equipment. In case of very strong bumps during transport or
