Feature description
X-plore 8000 welding visors are available in Standard or
Premium versions.
In the case of the X-plore 8000 Standard welding visor, the
automatic welding filter (ADF) is integrated into the visor shell.
Delay time, light sensitivity and darkening stage can all be set
using control dials. Grinding mode can be turned on and off at
the touch of a button.
In the case of the X-plore 8000 Premium welding visor, the
automatic welding filter (ADF) is integrated into a moving
visor. Delay time, light sensitivity, darkening stage and mode
can all be set via a menu.
The ADF is automatically switched on with both welding visors
as soon as the welding visor has been put on.

3.3
Intended use
The welding visors provide the user with breathable air.
Furthermore, they also protect the user's eyes and face
against sparks, spray and harmful UV and IR radiation when
welding, cutting and grinding.
The welding visors are intended for use with the powered air-
purifying respirators in the Dräger X-plore 8000 series, as well
as the compressed air hose units in the Dräger X-plore 9300
series:
– Stick electrode welding
– WIG
– MIG
– MAG
– Plasma cutting
– Plasma arc welding
– Autogenous welding
– Flame cutting
– Grinding
3.4
Limitations on intended use
– The protective effect can be limited by the following
factors:
– High wind speeds and a strong side wind
– Earpieces or beards in the area of the face cuff
– The ADF does not protect against dangers arising from
serious impacts (e.g. splinters from grinding wheels,
explosive devices) or from corrosive liquids.
– The welding visor is not suitable for working overhead,
laser welding and laser cutting.

The welding visors comply with the following directives:
