5. Select the delay time (DELAY), light sensitivity (SENSI.)
and darkening stage (SHADE) for the welding or cutting
mode using the FUNC button. Set the values with the
and
buttons.
The ADF darkens immediately in both welding or
cutting mode when welding starts.
Darkening stage 4 is set automatically in grinding mode.
Further settings are not possible. Fold up the visor for
grinding.
6. Insert the hose (R59600) into the hose connection (Fig. C-
5).
7. Press the hose into the holder (Fig. C-16) on the support
ring.
8. Connect the welding visor to the breathing air supply with
the hose.
9. Turn on the breathing air supply. Ensure that there is
breathable air in the welding visor.
10. Put on the welding visor. Set the support ring using the
adjusting wheel (Fig. C-17) based on the size of your
head.
11. Checking that the welding visor is seated correctly:
– The face cuff is all around the head. The ears are free.
– The welding visor is firmly in position on the head.
12. Tighten the drawstring (Fig. C-4).

During use
4.4.1 General
WARNING
Danger of injury or death!
If the breathing air supply fails, a build-up of carbon dioxide
and oxygen deficiency can quickly occur in the facepiece.
Respiratory protection is then no longer provided. There is
danger due to oxygen deficiency, CO
penetration of contaminants from the ambient air!
► Leave the danger zone immediately.
CAUTION
Danger of eye damage or burns!
If the ADF is set incorrectly or does not work properly, injuries
may result.
► If the ADF does not darken when an arc appears for the
first time, stop welding immediately.
► Check usability.
► Set light sensitivity if necessary.
4.4.2 X-plore 8000 Standard welding visor
Do not fold the welding visor up during use so that the face
remains protected.
– Hold the grinding mode button down for (Fig. A-4) for
2 seconds to turn on grinding mode. The LED flashes
green every 3 seconds.
– Hold the grinding mode button down for 1 second to turn
off grinding mode.

Do not fold the movable visor up during cutting or welding.
The welding visor only provides full protection once the visor
has been folded down completely.
Fold the movable visor up for grinding.

► Do not turn the breathing air supply off until you have
removed the facepiece.
► Only remove the facepiece in a place where the ambient
air is no longer contaminated.
1. X-plore 8000 Premium welding visor only: If necessary,
set light sensitivity to a level between 0 and 9.
The ADF on the X-plore 8000 Premium welding visor
only turns off after 30 minutes if light sensitivity has been
set to level 0 to 9. If level 10 has been set, then the ADF
does not turn off.
2. Clean the welding visor and dirty photo sensors on the
ADF.
3. Maintaining the welding visor if necessary: Replace
damaged parts and scratched protective plates.
