Fault Cause
Welding visor slips. Settings were not
made correctly.
6 Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
NOTICE
Danger of material damage!
Do not use solvents (e.g., acetone, alcohol) or cleaning
agents with abrasive particles for cleaning and disinfecting.
► Only follow the described processes.
1. Wipe down the welding visor, photo sensors and solar cell
with a damp, soft cloth. Wipe dry with a lint free cloth.
2. Check all components. Replace any cracked or scratched
components.
6.2 Maintenance work
6.2.1 Replacing batteries
1. Remove the ADF from the welding visor (see also chapter
6.2.6 or 6.2.11).
2. Remove the battery holder (Fig. B-2 or Fig. D-4) from the
ADF.
3. Remove the old battery.
4. Insert a new battery into the battery holder. Make sure
polarity is correct.
5. Insert and lock the battery holder into the ADF.
6.2.2 Replacing inner cover plate
NOTICE
Danger of damage!
► Do not use any pointed tools when removing the cover
plate so that the liquid crystal screen is not scratched!
1. Grasp the recess behind the inner cover plate (Fig. A-9 or
Fig. C-8).
2. Bend the cover plate slightly and remove it from the
mount.
3. Click a new cover plate into place in the mount on the
ADF.
In the case of the X-plore 8000 Premium welding visor,
make sure that the cover plate is positioned correctly in
the recess on the ADF.
6.2.3 Replacing outer cover plate
See Figures A and B on the fold-out page
Only applies to the X-plore 8000 Standard welding visor.
1. Pull the plug on the ADF (Fig. A-8) on the inside of the
welding visor from the housing via the grinding mode
button.
2. Push the locks (Fig. B-8) together and remove the ADF
with filter frame (Fig. A-10) from the welding visor.

3. Press the outer cover plate (Fig. A-7) into the welding

6.2.4 Replacing the face cuff

1. Unscrew the union nut (Fig. A-14) from the hose

3. Remove the face cuff from the welding visor.
4. Put on new face cuff using the adjusting wheel (Fig. A-12)
5. Close the zip fully.
6. Tighten the union nut on the hose connection.
6.2.5 Changing the sweatband and padding

1. Remove sweatband (Fig. A-15) and padding (Fig. A-17)
2. Place a new sweatband around the support ring, then
