As shown in the figure above, by operating the torch switch, the arc cannot be closed. In this condition, when the welding
is finished, the arc crater cannot be filled, and the welding can only be ended with the original welding current. This kind of
welding is mainly used for repeated tack welding, instant welding and thin plate welding.
Use Method of Extended Output Cable
This equipment allows properly lengthening the cable between the output terminal "+" of the welding power supply and the
wire feeder, but the following regulations must be observed:
- When extending the cable, be sure to choose a cable that meets the national standards and has a larger cross- sectional
area than the original cable. Because the extension cable will increase the cable resistance and the cable voltage drop,
which is not conducive to the welding operation; and the smaller the cable cross-sectional area, the greater the impact.
- Be sure to straighten the cable or coiling or coil as shown in Figure 6.1 below:
