1. Introduction
1�1 Application
• BETEX® Air-Hydraulic Pumps up to 700 bar are to be used solely for driving hydraulic
accessories suitable up to 700 bar.
• BETEX® Air-Hydraulic Pumps are suitable for an air source of 8 bar air pressure at most.
1�2 Warnings
• Do not use in combination with accessories that are unsuitable for the maximum
pressure from the pump.
• Never exceed the maximum pressure stated on the pump.
• Never alter the safety valve settings.
• Never use the pump when it is damaged.
1�3 Operating conditions
• Industrial operating conditions
• Use on level, stable base capable of absorbing the forces released by the pump.
1�4 Operation
• When the pump is connected to an air source of sufficient capacity (see section 5.1) and
the pump is switched on, the air pressure will be converted to hydraulic pressure. Using
the proper accessories, this hydraulic pressure can be deployed in various applications.
1.5 User and maintenance personnel requirements
• Users must have sufficient command of the language in which the manual is written to
enable them to fully understand the contents of this manual.
• Users must possess the relevant technical expertise. Moreover, they must be able to
accurately assess the dangers connected with operating the BETEX® Air-Hydraulic Pumps.
1.6 Personal protective equipment
• Always use the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when using the BETEX®
Air-Hydraulic Pumps. The specific PPE required depends on how the pump is used.
1.7 User workplace
• The workplace must always be clean, tidy and free of obstacles. The advantage of having
a clean workplace is that leaks can quickly be identified and repaired, resulting in a safer
working environment.
