Fig. 7) and its thickness is between the kerf width
and the basic thickness of the saw blade body being
used. The riving knife / splitter included in the deliv-
ery specification matches customary TCT saw
blades.
Under normal conditions, i.e. when using TCT saw
blades with 250 mm (9 27/32 in.)
of the riving knife / splitter is not necessary, even
when fitting a resharpened saw blade. Only if saw
blades with
240 mm (9 7/16 in.)
ted, it may be necessary to readjust the riving knife /
splitter.
Proceed as follows to adjust the riving knife / splitter:
• Set the saw blade to the maximum cutting height
(see paragraph 4.3).
• Remove
the
upper
paragraph 4.1).
• Pull the saw assembly forward to the table saw
position(see paragraph 3.9).
• Tilt the saw assembly to 45° (see paragraph 4.4).
• Loosen both hexagon socket screws 37 (Fig. 7 -
page 4) and adjust the riving knife / splitter 3 with
regard to the distance to the cutting edge of the
blade and its height as shown on Fig. 7.
• Retighten firmly hexagon socket screws 37.
• Replace the upper saw guard and tighten it in the
desired position (see paragraph 4.1).
The riving knife / splitter can also be set in two differ-
ent positions without using a tool. The upper posi-
tion of the riving knife / splitter - complete with saw
guard - is for normal cuts, the lower position - with-
out saw guard - is for partial cuts (rebates and
grooves). Simply pull the riving knife / splitter upward
and and at the same time forward or push it down-
ward and backward.)

Cutting height adjustment

The cutting height can be set continuously between
0 and 85 mm (0 – 3 3/8 in.) by turning handwheel 17
(Fig. 8 - page 4). Turn in a clockwise direction to
increase the cutting height and in the opposite direc-
tion to reduce the height.
In order to improve the quality of the cut, the cutting
height of the saw blade should be set approx. 5 mm
(3/16 in.) above the material thickness to be cut.
Depending on the engaged position of the riving
knife / splitter at one of the two settings, reference
can be made to scale 38 (Fig. 7 - page 4) that is per-
pendicular to the table surface as an aid to setting a
specific cutting height with the standard saw blade of
If an exact cutting height setting is required, e.g. for
grooves or rebates, always adjust the saw blade
upwards in order to compensate for any play.

are to be fit-
To adjust the saw blade up to 45° which are possible
with this machine for tilted cuts, first loosen locking

lever 19 (Fig. 9 - page 4) by turning it counterclock-
wise and tilt the saw assembly by turning star knob
20 until the desired cutting angle is indicated 22 on
angle scale 21. Retighten locking lever 19.
By turning knob 23 the saw blade can be tilted by an
additional 3° beyond the final positions 0° and 45°.
When tilting back the saw blade, the knob returns
automatically back to its original position, so that in
case the saw blade will be tilted again it remains in
the regular range between 0° and 45°.

The complete universal guide fence consists of sup-
port 15 (Fig. 8 - page 4) and fence extension 14
which is adjustable in the support. It can be clamped
in position in the dovetail profiles on all sides of the
table as required by means of the bottom wing screw
of clamping fence support 27.
The universal guide fence offers the further advan-
tage that it can be used both as a rip fence with the
table saw configuration and as a cross and mitre
fence with the pull-push saw configuration.
The position of the fence extension (workpiece align-
ment) relative to the index plate or scale is precisely
set at the factory. In the event of a subsequent
adjustment being necessary, proceed as follows:
• Clamp the universal guide fence in the dovetail
-34-
250 mm (9 27/32 in.).
Saw blade tilt adjustment
Before beginning tilt adjustments,
make sure that neither the multi-pur-
pose guide fence nor any workpieces
are inside the tilting range of the saw
blade when the blade is running.
