1. Make sure that the cold air intake grille is not
blocked. Remove grass and dirt with a brush.
2. Open the engine cover.

WARNING: Stop the engine. The cold air
intake rotates and can cause injury to your
fingers.
1. Make sure that the cold air intake grille is not

4. Examine the air duct on the inner side of the engine
cover. Make sure that the air duct is clean and does
not rub against the cold air intake.

To remove the covers

To open the engine cover

1. Move the seat fully forward. See
on page 14 .
2. Tilt the seat forward.
3. Pull the clips on the engine cover rearward. The clips
are found on the inner surface of the engine frame.
4. Open the engine cover forward.

To remove the front cover

1. Release the clip on the front cover with the tool
attached to the ignition key.
