Warnings:
Become thoroughly familiar with the instructions in the documents consigned with the product. This will enable you to work in complete safety and to
obtain the best performance the product is able to offer.
The following instructions apply to the standard version of the product operating in normal conditions. Special versions, shown by the product code, may
not fully comply with the instructions herein (when necessary, the manual will be supplied with additional information).
As it is our policy to continually improve our products, the data in the documentation and the product itself may be subject to modification without the
GB
manufacturer being obliged to give prior notice.
Failure to comply with the instructions in this manual, improper use or unauthorized modifications to the product shall void all forms of guarantee, while
the manufacturer shall not be held responsible for any deriving damages to persons, animals or property.
ATTENTION:
- the pump is supplied without oil. Pour lubricant into the bearing housing before starting (the procedure is described in paragraph
6.3 "Maintenance");
- never allow the pump to operate dry since the sealing system on the shaft is lubricated by the pumped fluid. Dry operation would
also damage the hydraulic parts in versions with thermoplastic resin internals.
2
SAFETY:
Before operating on the product in any way, make sure that the electrical parts of the system on which work is to be carried out are
disconnected from the electricity main.
The product described in this manual is designed for use in industry, aqueducts, irrigation systems and similar. As such, it may only be handled,
installed, operated, serviced, repaired and dismantled by specialized personnel possessing the necessary qualifications, equipped with the
necessary tools and who have become fully familiar with the contents of this manual and any other documentation supplied with the product.
Always comply with all the safety, accident-preventing and anti-pollution instructions in the manual during each individual operation, together with
all the more restrictive local provisions in force.
Take great care to prevent clothing, long hair or other personnel items from being caught by the rapidly spinning shaft in the packing gland area.
Remember that when they operate with hot water, the surface temperatures of the motor and pump may be able to burn the skin.
Do not use water for extinguishing purposes if the electrical equipment catches fire.
For safety reasons and to ensure compliance with the warranty conditions, the purchaser is forbidden to use the product should this become faulty
or in the event of a sudden variation in the performances of the product itself.
Installation must be carried out in order to prevent accidental contacts which could represent a hazard for persons, animals and property.
Inspection and servicing procedures must be carried out to prevent all forms of risk following malfunction of the product.
Consult chapter 4 "Handling and storage" for safe handling and storage.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT AND USE:
3.1
Technical and operational features:
The pumps described in this manual have one or more centrifugal impellers installed in series and spinning in a clockwise direction when viewed
from the shaft projection side, axial suction port and radial delivery port (tangential in mod. BHR), equipped with pump shaft borne by oil lubricated
roller bearings and coupled to an electric motor or internal combustion engine by a coupling or drive shaft.
Where possible, specially outfitted pumps can be supplied on request:
- with mechanical seal (...T...) only when coupled to an electric motor;
- with bronze impellers (...H...);
- with stainless steel pump shaft (...Z...);
- with reinforced supports for pulley operation (MEC-ACU...).
Consult the specific technical documentation for further information.
When the product is installed according to the instructions given in this manual and in compliance with the diagrams, the acoustic pressure level issued
by the machine will reach the cautionary values in dB(A) given in the tables in chapter 11 "Technical data".
In particular:
- noise measurement has been conducted in compliance with ISO 3746;
- according to Directive 98/37/EC, the gauging points were 1 meter from the reference surface of the machine and 1.6 meters from ground or access
platform level;
- the maximum value was measured in the electric motor fan side;
- there is a ± 3 dB(A) on the values;
- the pump values were measured in the maximum yield point;
- the electric motor values were measured as the motor idled (or:- the electric motor values are those declared by the manufacturer).
On request, binding noise values can be supplied when the equipment is ordered.

Fields of use:
The standard version of the product has been designed to pump clear water from sumps or to boost pressure.
3.3
Inadvisable uses: ATTENTION
The standard version of the product is not suitable for:
- dry operation;
- pumping fluids other than fresh, clear, chemically and mechanically non-aggressive water;
- pumping fluids with a solid concentration of more than 0÷20 g/m
data");
- pumping fluids at a temperature of more than 70÷90°C (158÷194°F)(consult the "Limits to operation" table in chapter 11 "Technical data");
- pumping inflammable fluids;
- operation in places where there is a classified risk of explosion;
